I would like to know if SP Jain considers gender-factor as well. I was going through batch profile of SP Jain for last 2 years and found that there are more than 40% of female candidates; which is very high when compared with most of the other top 20 institutes in India.

Also, is there any diversity factor consideration from graduation-background's point of view? What exactly is expected from graduation-college? Is it IIT/NIT etc. for engineers or something more? And how come someone's college becomes important in getting a call? I can understand his marks or university being some factors, but not college.

Ace bhai, you case is an perfect example that shows how narrow minded the SP jains profile based calls are !!!! i share your frustration !!

i had gone through the list of call getter and the present batch profile . for Marketing and finance most are from IITs and NIT / DU and few univ other univs.

Also the interesting fact is that they claim that relevant Work Experience is a factor !! its rather a negative factor for !!

no one with more than 3yrs received a profile based calls (Marketing and finance)

it is also clear from that batch profile that SP jain preffers freshers for Marketing and finance !!! then why doesn't it state the criteria upfront ! its high time the b schools become more transparent on their shortlisting criteria !

I can undertsand that there can be differences..but how can there be such a major difference?..Common just think of it..
There is indeed something wrong here...that is why I asked people if they have a similar experience to pls mail the XAT admissions about it..
And that too not one but 3 major coaching institutes!

strongly agree , based on the keys of institutes i applies to few colleges too , but the result were upside down, i don't question the validity of the key used by xlri by i seriously want to know what went wrong . why cat they make these exams a transparent process , let the institute conducting the exam declare the keys along with the results , in our result we should be able to see all the answers we marked and how we landed-up with this mark(like we see in mockcats) if coaching institutes can do that for so many exams why cant the institute that conducts the exam do them ???? its our right to know under Right to Information Act !

I am seriously considering to file an RTI to know my RAW score , i believe that's the only way to with until the system becomes transparent.

If xlri has come out with a shortlist, that means the results are prepared!! They even had time to sort out the candidates getting a call!!
Why don't they just put out the result!!! Aaaarggghhhh!!!

1) possible dates of shortlisting of candidates for R2 (ratio of calls : seats)
2) by when will final admits list be out ?
2) given that its a 1year fast track program does it contain summer internship ?
3) during placements are students given options to attend others companies even after they are placed in a company ?

i am applying with with my XAT 2012 score , which is expected to be out only by 31st jan !!! i believe there would be many more students fancying their chances with XAT 2012 . will Great lakes make some arrangement for submitting the XAT 2012 score in case the results are delayed ?

To add to the post - IMI has not yet received the CAT score cards and therefore it will be wrong to speculate about the cut-off strictly being 90+. The reopening of forms has only been done for enriching the pool of applicants.

if That was really the concern why did the institute close applications as early as NOV 18th ???, given that it was well know CAT results would be declared jan 11th ?????

you don't have mice words , its pretty obvious the re opening of applications is for money !!!! not to isolate IMI , many reputed institutes do the same , use the brand name to get as many applications as possible by having the Last date well in advance of the CAT results , then after the results re open the admission to fetch more apps !!!

its clear that Institutes are capable of processing the applications even after the CAT results , then why on earth do you have last date to apply that early ?? any genuine rational behind that ?

plz look at it without taking sides you would realize its totally 'unfair' !!

ps: I am posting this not to pick up any argument , its just out of sheer agony at the lack of ethics such reputed B-Schools .

dude i was talking abt this years profile based call getters specific to Marketing and Finance , in fact if you see even in link you provided look carefully

Finance - 90% of the batch have less than 2yrs Exp
Marketing - 87% of the batch have less than 2yrs Exp in fact the whole batch is under 3yrs Exp .!

Mind you this is the batch profile which consists of both profile based calls and the score based calls.

it quite obvious that SP Jain prefers Freshers and ppl with less(>2yrs) when it comes to Marketing and Finance!!

Iam just pointing out this cox many have posted excellent profiles but are mad and confused at why they dint make it .

I'll write the crux of it.
1. They have various criteria to judge a candidate on - continual achievement in education (school->college), versatility, achievements, work related achievements. They give scores of S, A, B or C to each, where S is super.

4. To get profile based call, you have to be an S in at least one of the parameters. However, you should not get a C in any of the parameters.
5. Work experience is not a criterion for Fin/Marketing. However, they do require relevant work-ex for Ops or IM.

To put it in simple words the 'Profile based' Call is based on the below simple logic

10th-85%+ (preferably CBSE)
12th-85%+(preferably CBSE)
Grad-75%+
Grad college - iit/nit/DU
Work expt - preferably nill to 1yr but strictly not more than 2.5yrs for Finance anf Mkg
2+ for oprations and 3+ for It

if you still not convinced look at the present batch profile of SP jain
