Saw this thread now only! Had gone for my first day of internship.

After reading through all the posts, few points I found worth mentioning (some/all may already have been mentioned) to clear the air and maybe carify few doubts

1. People who have got admits, details regarding fees etc will be sent to you alongwith the final offer letter and also in the email ID you have given in application form. So you can pay the fees accordingly, as you'll get ample time for that.
As of now the payment is only Rs2lakhs to confirm your admission. Rest of the initial payment would include hostel fees and a payment of around 14K as library fees, tie and crest, security deposit etc. and detals regarding these would be there along with the offer letter sent to you via post/email.

2. People who got message saying you're in W/L and check on 2nd May, you're in 1st waitlist and people being asked to check on 5th May are on 2nd W/L which is more or less clear already. So kindly check the update on the said date. There is no W/L numbers as such, but rest assured that there is 90% chance of both these set of people getting a final convert!!

3. People who are getting message asking to check on 2nd May, you're not in the W/L 1 or 2 as of now. But based on movement as per people paying fees, you may come up into the 1st or 2nd W/L and then maybe to a final convert based on further movement. As per last years trend people who got this message initially have also made it to college, even 5 days before date of commencement of session also, based on W/L movement!!

So no one lose hope. The wait will be a bit longer, I agree. But you've waited so long, please have patience for few weeks further. I know its easy to say but the results may be sweeter :). I myself cleared from 2nd W/L.

and some people like me getin a msg it just asks to chk on 2nd may
and also some people are askd to chk on 5th may

so seniors pls explain ...the diffrnce among all these msgs ..

Hey I checked my result for PGDM IB it says check ur status on 2nd may but many are getting that check ur status on 2nd may and if selected you have to pay 1st installment of 2 lac why this difference exist. I called the FORE they told that all those who got the 2nd may as status r on 1st waitlist and all those who's status is on 5th may r on 2nd waitlist . Plz help that is that correct and what are my chances for the conversion for IB program

Extra Curicculum - Good

I had my GD PI yesterday (6th April) at IIFT, Delhi. It was in the morning slot.

GD - As I had expected, was quite a fish market. The challenge was to be assertive without being overtly dominating. One guy tried to just overpower the discussion with his sheer voice. Though he had some good content, he was not selected. I think he was removed for lack of mannerisms.

Essay - Very chilled out topic. "No pains, no gains" - the best you can do in 8 minutes is relate the topic with your life and write at your spontaneous best. I had a satisfactory write up.

PI 1 - There were 2 members in the panel. One young guy and another one an elderly shrewd man who was bumming everyone out with his sarcasm.

The interview went on for about 10-12 minutes where they asked me the generic questions (abt u, why mba, acads etc). One question on Economics (my grad subject)
But what was weird is they didn't ask me any question about the detals about my work exp.. Are there other people with work exp who faced the same situation??

Everything else was pretty chilled out..

Director's Interview was a simple one with again some generic questions and general "Munh-dikhai" .

Had a good time... Don't be amused if they try to brush you on your weaknesses. There's greater probability that they are thinking you are good contenders for the seat, that they are testing you.
