This question might be a little out of place. However, I need to make a decidion asap. I'm a pune university student. My score is 171 and state rank 815. I need to pick between S.I.E.S, mumbai & PUMBA. the city doesn't matter. I aspire to specialize in HR & if possible I'd like international placement. I've more than 3 years of experience in Triaining & development. Could you help??

I'm not too sure if SIES places students internationally.
Amongst the various benifits an MBA at PUMBA offers is a university department b school certification,which will give you an edge while looking for international jobs.
My batch had HR students being placed in some really good organisations like Sunguard, TCS, Honeywell to name a few.With ur experience and score, u shouldnt look further than PUMBA.

@riyadeshpande - Airtel has no range at all. Idea, Vodaphone, very little. BSNL, Reliance do have network. No idea about Docomo and Aircel though. So plan accordingly.

Your airtel-cell will catch a bit of signal if you step outta of college.I had an airtel connection during my PUMBA days and the cell would work only outside the college building.

BSNL and Reliance work just fine

Why does one need a laptop at all? I mean, we have a fully equipped computer lab in PUMBA, right?
Seniors, can you please throw some light on this?

You dont need a lappy. A lot of students in PUMBA dont own lappys
and yes, we do have a well equipped lab.

M not sure on what basis u've compared Pumba with Dalmia. Pumba is a 30 yr old university b school. Dalmia is nowhere close to Pumba.Do a bit of research before u compare chalk with cheese.

Hello Puys, Pls help me out...I am in dilemma right now.

First I should tell you abt my profile.
I have 142 marks in MH-CET and rank is 971 at All India Seat.
My name is in list for my 4th preference which is MAEER's MIT School of Management, Pune
I fill my preference according to last year cut off. (But this time instead of rising its come down)
Any way

I am a B.Tech Computer Science graduate completed in 2008 and Right Now I am working and earning 2.6lac
Annually approx

Please tell me about this college in more detail (As this is the only option I have to fill as its in 4th preference so I m not eligible for next CAP rounds if I leave this one, correct me if I am wrong)

a) Can u compare this one with any college in Delhi like whether this one is equivalent to FORE, LBSIM ETC?
b) As per website infra looks good, is it??
c) What about the placement %. (Plays as gr8 help to make my decision)
d) Max, Avg and Min package (plays as gr8 help to make my decision)

I heard MIT is very good for Engineering but not have idea abt MBA. Please help me ASAP. Coz only have 2 days to go there to submit fee (Before that arranging money too)

U shoud try again next yr. With ur work ex, u should be aiming to get into a better college. Btw, the only CET college worth its name in Pune is PUMBA.All the others are overhyped.

Good to see the PUMBA thread so active. I'm visiting pagalguy after a long time and like most of us who pass out, was pretty busy with my professional and personal life.


For all those who've got admission to PUMBA:Welcome. Ur in one of the finest B-Schools in India, make the best of your time here.


My batch was prolly the 1st batch to have a hugh no of people with work-ex.I personally came in with 3 years of pre-MBA work ex. Some of us had calls from NMIMS, Sydenham and some from the so called "Pune based best B School in India". We all choose PUMBA over the others coz we simply believed it was better than the others and trust me:- we dont regret having taken this decision at all.

Its been over two years since we graduated and most of us have done pretty well in life.

The college has had it pros and cons, but its upto you make the best out of ur 2 years here. That is one attitude that will take you places in life.

Hi friends,
I want to ask about the Work-Ex certificate. Does PUMBA asks for it at the time of admission even if the candidate has a work experience of less than 1 year & he has not submitted Work-Ex certificate to avail PAR marks?
I didn't get Work-Ex certificate from my company. Is it reqired at the time of admission? If it is so, is there any other document I can submit in order to prove that I have worked for less than 1 year after my graduation?
Is an affidevit the solution for this problem?

No...a work exp certifcate is needed only if u have >= 2 years of work ex in a publicly listed company

No, the only CET college worth doing mba from pune is PUMBA.
If ur really desperate there is indira and MIT, but that should be it,look no further
