Please provide some feedback abt Kamat's Academy for gd/pi prep.
It is run by Mr Rajesh Kamat who is an alumni of TISS.

i have 87.5%ile in CAT and have applied to welingkar.am a fresher with a drop of one year.
please let me know if i stand any chances.

Also,puys in mumbai..i have come to mumbai from my hometown to prepare for GD/PI.I am confronted with 2 options :

1) Patrick Desouza - ***** Academy

2) Rajesh Kamat - Kamat's Academy

Please advice which one is better or if possible,pls provide a short analysis of both these classes.

Dude i had a drop of 3 yrs ... nd hav made it to XIME ....bangalore + i hav met guys wid a one yr drop after their engg. ... (can u believe dat) .... who made it to GIM('08 ) ..... so don't get cold feet jus bcoz of an yr drop ... It all dependz on ur PI ... more than ur GD ... b confident nd above all don't b pretentious ... wat u don't no ... jus say it ...don't make thing up ... ppl takin PI r v smart ...so BOL..


As fr preparation fr GD PI i don't think u need to go ny where to prepare fr PI atleast ... all those well prepared ppl don't appear orignal at all...a spl. sthing that they luk out fr. in PI .... no one can prepare u fr. stress interviews ... ... how do u hope to ans a ques of a kind ... " Give me 5 diff uses of a pen .. other than writing ??" ... i was asked this ques sumwhere
or " y is the red herring prospectus of IPOs called Red herring ...??".... fr. these sort of qus. u dont need ny spl. training but presence of mind ... which probalbly comes by self training ... not by the feeds of som training acadamy


As fr GD ... i believe that u atleast need to hav som basic knowledge of all that has happened arnd in the past one yr ....fr. dat read newsppr ... both buss. nd general ... a good year book mayalso help... but now is not da time fr. dat ....

the only thing is that i believe that getting good training for gd/pi will at the least increase my confidence level...coz i messed up at nmims..big time.
thats why i'm posting my query again.i need some guidance on those 2 academies.

this question must have been asked many times,but i'd request some1 to answer just one more time.

my sole target is to clear the nmat and i really want to secure the 1st rank.(no offense meant to other puys who're working very hard.. its just a target i've set for myself)

1) what should be the focus of preparation
a) in qa
b) in va
c) in di
d) in lr

2) can you please explain what kind of material should be practiced ? (if you can provide 1 or 2 specific books or material,it would be easy to find more.)

i would be extremely grateful if anyone could answer these questions.

Hi Dipen,

The Prospectus for 2009 which clearly mentions the selection process and the exam pattern. The prospectus clearly mentions no GK section, It also contains Section Splits for the exam.
