And as far as i know...we dnt need a specialized degree from anywhere...Anyone can be a Social Media Analyst...Graduation can be one of the criteria though...

Yep.. no specialized degree as such... In America, normally 13-14 year olds do this and make a couple of products promoting products and services.. Anyone with a very good understanding of social media can be a social media analyst..

BTW Social media analyst is a person who promotes / advertises / markets products or brands or services on social networking sites like twitter, facebook, orkut, digg, forums etc or on social media tools like blogger, squidoo, hubpages etc.

The job is to primarily promote your product via social media for word of mouth purposes

I currently run a website (in my signature) which I do not intend to monetize for atleast 12-18 months.
The tech development for my website has been outsourced to a tech company. Since I'm not making any revenue via this site and do not intend to do so for a while, I wish to minimize my cost. I was wondering if any hardcore techie among the PG member base would want to work on this.
Obviously, I will not be paying for the services but could give out a certain %age of stake in the startup. You will not be required to quit your full time job and could work on the website 1-2 hrs a day (and a couple of hours on weekends). Currently I have close to 4-5k members (most of them inactive). I won't be marketing my services until I'm done with the tech development work. My objective is to get atleast 50-75K loyal users by Jun-Oct 2011 and then apply for VC funding. It's risky but as I mentioned you will not be required to quit your full time job. You could cut down on socializing a bit :cheers:
I interviewed many techies over a couple of months but couldn't find anyone who is ambitious and passionate about startups. Over the period of time (I joined PG in 2005), I've come across so many puys who dreamt of having their own startup but were not very keen on taking risks. This could probably attract those wannabe entrepreneurs
Some of the pointers
- Hardcore techies/programmers comfortable with PHP, PERL, DHTML, JavaScript, ASP, XML etc
- Should be based in Mumbai (Sorry about that but since I'm based in Mumbai, I'd be comfortable working with those from Mumbai itself)
- Should be comfortable with social media marketing - Active involvement in social media networks: blogs, Flickr, Myspace, Digg, Facebook, Squidoo, Twitter, etc.
- SEO skills (not an expert though)
- No investment from your side
- Comfortable with FB and Twitter application (not necessary though)
- I'll be taking care of finance and marketing initiatives
- Having experience with an online startup would benefit
- I don't care about the degree - A matriculate fail may also apply if he/she is comfortable with the pointers above

SEHWAGG - What a guy... while no other Indian has hit a tripple century, he's on his way for the third one....Simply amazing.. This guy surely has a chance to pass BL's 400 if things go well.. Once he crosses 300.. he should play the way he has so far.. if he lasts thinking, he wont last long..

Well. I just loved the last guy from the last interview episode..
"Main Maru community ko belong karta hoon aurunko bataana chahta hoon ki mere pair (legs) mat khicho.. encourage karo.. blah blah blah.." I just couldn't believe this guy just went on and on and on and on..... and on. He didn't get selected but it would have been a treat to watch him.. He could have done what Devarshi di to Roadies 6.0.. BTW.. This time around I haven't seen much of roadies.. some of the interviews were kinda boring and never kep me nterested.. Hopefully it'll get uglier once the show actually starts..
