For me, the choice between IIM C, B and ISB would be primarily influenced by the average work experience of my peer group:
ISB - 2 to 7 yrs
IIM C - 7 to 12 yrs
IIM B - 10 to 16 yrs
I would rather make a decision based on my peer group instead of thinking about fee, location advantage, post MBA package, etc. as 1-yr MBAs are largely group-study oriented where there are more discussions in the class than simple lecture delivery.
IIM-C has companies coming for senior level profiles, so lesser options for a 5-6 yrs work-ex guy.
Similarly, ISB prefers a younger batch looking at its past years' placement records where ISB found it difficult to place 7-8+ yrs work-ex guys. The companies generally offer entry or mid-level managament profiles which are best suited for folks with 3-6 yrs work-ex.
Dear Puys friends,
If you can help me, with some of your valuable suggestions & opinions, i will be more than grateful to you...am in a VERY VERY awarkard suitation....
I applied to SP, IIML, IIMC
SP - Selected, joining date is 12th jan
IIML - Rejected, on ground of 2 months less exp. (exp.5.10 yrs by march 2011)
IIMC - Rejected, not in 1st list atleast
My profile:
700/4.5 ; Male ; 5.7 yrs as of today; IT services; Presales & BD profile currently; EC & Academics is decent with distinction throughout
Am not able to decide whether to take SP or wait for 1 more year and try IIMs (I didn't opt ISB because of high fees, when already burdened with similar amount on home loan side)
hence very very confused at the moment....
Abhi : I don't see SP in your list for 5-7 yrs band, just want to know, isn't it good enough from your perspective? what ur views ??
Sameer bhai...if you could also give your views, it would be helpful..
Note: I know all views would be personal, hence just need your unbiased opinions
