ANS-I C, let four balls be A,B,C,&D.; S (A+B+C+D)/4 = 20;

now the median weight of the balls is 20 , so B+C?)/2=20 i.e. B+C=40 and A+D= 40, and as per the second statement no ball weighs 20 pounds hence...from above two eqns we can safely say that by combining two statements...we can get the answer ....

So i think the answer should be C....

ANS-II. my take on the question is B,we can solve the question by using only the seconsd statement... As the average is 32 so we can solve for x. and x =32...so the mode of the would be = 32...

what are the answers.,...

consider this sentence,,,and thereby i second vars.jat's opinion that we might face problem when we are using who/whom as relative pronouns..

Give the book to whoever/whomever asks for it. Now what if i say that i apply your method, and i use him in the sentence.... like give the book to him...so accordingly the answer should be whomever...but in that case it is wrong ... as the correct answer is whoever...because anyone who asks would be the subject and hence the answer should be whoever,,

I really feel that we should all pool in our suggestions and help our fellow puys (inc me) out if this problem area of using who and whom...

The sentences highlighted in bold are incorrect. The first one should be, "Whom did you sit by all night?" and the second should be, "Whom did Roger see yesterday?"

Also, it is incorrect to suggest the use of 'who' whenever there is confusion.

Simple tip: If the question can be answered using the pronoun, 'him', use 'whom'. Otherwise, you 'who'.

For example, 'Whom did you meet last Saturday?' could be answered by saying, 'I met him." So, use 'whom'

On the other hand, if you ask 'Who/whom killed Diana?', the answer cannot be 'him', It would be 'He killed her'. So, clearly, the use of who would be correct in this case.

@ eric.segal, I think the answer should be inference because...there is a clear mention of the words 'increasing' ' growing' etc. signify that there are two separate figures, and upon comparing the two the experts predict that the no. might increase in the future.. i'm actually confident the answer couldn have been a FACT because of the word FEEL. this word is subjective as take this case... the experts feel this way but i do not feel this way...somebody else would feel differently... a fact remains uncontested....water boils at 100 degree C , now this statment remains solid and not subjected... take this statement to understand inference: the growing number of doctors in India might provide a relief to MCI(it's a poor construction so bear with me lolz) ... now how can i say that the number is growing.. i can only do this if i compare two figures...and if i'm comparing two figures i have a verifiable data...and on that fact i'm inferring that it might bring relief to MCI... i hope it helps/// regards Jakhar

puys i really think this is a FACT. however the answer given is INFERENCE. Can someone plz explain?

i consider this a fact becoz no matter what inference is drawn by the fact that "the economic clout is growing" it still remains something that the experts feel not the author. the author is just quoting wat the experts feel so this must be a fact acc to my understanding.

@krish_krispy hi there, i remember this rule about modifiers, the modifier should be placed as close as possible to the word/phrase it modifies, in this question 'it' definitely creates a confusion ....but we can (perhaps) safely assume that it here refers to the chocolate. hi naresh in this case though the answer is Judgement....though the statement does looks like inference but it's not..

because we are drawing the conclusion"so Jordan is taller than Carter" on the basis of the first statement"Jordan Dunks BETTER than Carter" now this is not a fact as better is a subjective term so together it makes the whole statement judgement....

take this example... the recent drives by the MC to clean the parks should decrease the number of malaria cases..... this is the inference because the first half is the verifiable part on which the conclusion "the cases should go down" is drawn...holds the contruction of an inference as per the pattern prescribed by IIMs....inference acc to them is...the conclusion drawn about the unknown on the basis of the know fact...

Due to menas ...caused by ...and becasue ... is the reason...

we often use them interchangeably but that is wrong ...we should use 'due to' only when it substitute for caused by,

1.The match got canceled due to/because of rain.
2. The postponement of match was due to/because of rain...

you'll see that the answer to the firs question is because of because we are talking in sense of a reason,and in second the answer is due to because it means over here...caused by,,,

3.INFERENCE- because the second half of the sentence is a fact whereas ...the first part is judgement.... a judgement / subjectiveness based on some fact...
