I had my interview on 16th April Delhi and found ...out of 53 students called 22 were absent.
Also talked with some of my friends and some people and found many people skipped IIM Indore interviw .I donno specific reasons.
This would surely increase the number of chances of converting.

Well I have done some analysis from IIM C list ( as it is the only list available )

In Final Convert list for General Candidates, I found more than 200 names (PGDM+PGDCM) having IIM Indore call as well. Not considering the waitlist as of now.

My estimate for other institutes ( ABL, FMS, XL) final converts having common call with IIM I is as follows ( for general candidates )
IIM A - 50 ( apart from people present in C list)
IIM L - 100 ( apart from people present in ABC list)
IIM B - 50 ( apart from people present in AC list)
XL, FMS - 30-50

So total 400-450 final converts in other institutes. even if half convert then expect huge movement in waitlist.

P.S :- I have checked only for IIM C rest are my estimates...This post is a result of me having no work in office ...and PG being my only means of time pass :lookround:

If it the package that one has on his mind then IIM brand name do have a lot of value... but I sincerely think MBA is more than the company tht u will get into at the end of the day... well, it differs from person to person...but MBA is more like getting matured enuf to take decisions and gaining a lot of knowledge, abt the way things work, in the process....

I agree abt the quality of IIM's but XLRI(estb. in 1949) is also a very good college , but the inclination towards an MBA is more towards IIM.

Again ppl have the attitude that ager MBA karna hai to sirf IIM se. Except IIM ABC, that are leagues apart as they have been there for a long time, choosing an MBA degree should be given as much weight-age as the institute that one selects.

There are so many factors... but I think doing an MBA is always an individual decision one takes after asking himself in-numerous times WHY MBA ?

CAT IS EASY THEN XLRI
IIM HAS RESERVATION XLRI DOESNT
MBA AND IIM ARE ARE MORE OFTEN LINKED TOGETHER
AND LASTLY THE MOST IMPORTANT
ONE IS ASSURE FOR GETTING THE BEST OF THE KNOWLEDGE A B-SCHOOL IN INDIA CAN OFFER
