1) Coveted jobs/profiles is a subjective matter, some might find an HR Consulting role coveted, for some it might be Corporate HR Business Partnering and for some an IR role. Although let me clarify, that in many cases, when a company recruits a PMIR(now HRM) student, it is not for only HR or only IR, but can be stints across both to get an overall appreciation.

2) All the firms that you have mentioned offer HR Consulting roles and they all recruit from XL.

3) If you want to talk about HR Consulting, you can visit the websites of these firms, and understand the kind of work they do.

the feelin of convertin the pmir call is still sinking in....reali lookin 4ward 2 go 2 jamshedpur......i guess the initial intro with the batchmates n seniors wud be thru pg names...the real names wud come on later..
anyways all the important Qs have already been answered(thnx to the amazin grp of seniors)..here r a few lite Qs ---do we hav a swimmin pool,tt table,cricket grnd....are bikes allowed on campus(n also is it sensible to get a bike there)?....hw is life outside the campus?....hw are the rooms n the food(my mom is already hyperventilating that she wont be able 2 feed me)?.....hw many ppl in a room?.....do redirect if im spamming;)

I got the letter, PMIR 9th march, mumbai(anyone at the same time n place lemme kno!)
About this questionnaire, it seems they will ask about interests,goals, y mba type Qs...we better prepare them b4 loggin in...but i guess multiple log.ins wont be a prob
Lets hope they send the passwrd quickly...
N the GDs are different in XL rite?...more lik a Group exercise(wherein ranking points n reaching a consensus is the target)...So if seniors can try n simulate a couple of such GEs dat wud b better!...Thnx

I got a XL-PMIR call with a 99.63 %ile, hadnt filled BM
i hav a few queries, forgive me if i am repeating:-

1) The result page says that you are shortlisted for interviews, does this mean that there is no GD for PMIR too this time.
2)Seniors!..Do they ask B.E(engineering) project related questions.
3)GD is a knockout round or not? Or is everyone allowed to sit for the PI and the cumulative performance counts?
4)Any specific prep reqd for PMIR calls to answer the 'Why HR question?'

i am currently in my 3rd yr of engg plannin 2 giv cat 08.....what exactly are iims expectin as extra curriculars?...i seem to be not having any great extra curriculars til now...will this be a critical factor in deciding the admission??

hi one n all im akhil currently in my 5th sem vacation(of 7 days)...
m plannin to give cat and the string of exams that follow it this year end....i.e. 2007.
