i had counselling yesterday
i went for IMS ...

here are somethings that might interest people targetting next yr.

- there isn't any addition of seats in IMS
- IMS was full at around 80-85 rank. (when i took ims (52 rank) there were 22 seats remaining and when my friend at 65th rank took ims there were 14 seats remainin)
- IIPS was full at around 115-120 rank. (my friend took IIPS at 110 and after him 4 seats were remainin)
- there are total 52 seats in ims for UR candidates (29 mp domicile + 23 AI)

dunno anout prestige but looks like it was full at 200 rank.

lastly counselling was slow......... those guys are lazy

dont forget to take water bottle and something to eat (fast food) with u

Any queries on IMS ... ? ... Shoot !...

do u think i can get IMS with 52 rank .... ????
if not than i think i shouldnt go to counselling.

first of all buddy its good to see that even after so less marks in gdpi ....ur getting ims....congo for that...........

and secondly why should i avoid ips............please tell me .....and if not ips then what should be my next choice if i dont get prestige..............

i dont know Y u want IPS.
its not a college worth joining ... defamed in everything and MBA packages arent gr8.
its a one like suryadutta in pune, rai in delhi etc. etc. etc.
rather a formality cos i dont think 2 lakhs per annum is a package after MBA.

i mean i had options of 3.5 lakhs without MBA.
plus what about atmosphere of b-school.

IMHO u should join some good college only for MBA
take a drop .. work somewhere and take mba entrance again,
visit more threads u will know that people dont consider IMS worth joining (i was one of them some 3 months ago) and than what about IPS.

i may sound harsh but there is a difference b/w talent and who care MBAs from IPS,MEDICAPS, VAISHNAV likes.

and i dont think u want to stand in who care MBAs without a proper fight.

and leave it all apart join a institute that makes u feel guy Business graduate ..... i mean talk to guys at IPS and u will feel like talking to another Bsc/B.com guy on the road.

laslty about package in these colleges are very dicey (even in IMS/PRESTIGE cos of SHIT selection pattern)

last yr. in medicaps few people got a package of 3.5 (truth 90% of them were engineers) (my friend is studying there)
i am not saying that engineers are better but yes are more prefered.

even in IMS avg, package for engineers is higher than normal class.

the difference b/w IMS and likes of KJ Somaiya is that they get to select students and they take only THE capable ones but here in IMS its selection procedure is shit.

i hope u get what i am trying to say and if u dont get it than i must tell u that there are over 150000 MBA graduates passing every yr.

all i meant there is IMS could have been no. one if IMS had its own selection procedure.

life is too long and u will get good chance to blame on luck.

but who cares
life has just started and i believe its too small matter to curse luck.

its just a rough calculations which could be completely wrong.

IMS has 120 seats .... and i assumed that after deducting the seats for reserved catogory(SC/ST/OBC/female etc.) some 45 seats remains for general category boys (last yr it was 29 for sure)

same calculations for IIPS

Prestige is free from all reservations so all 120 (or is it 90) counted,

not all guys in top 50 take admission cos so far they have secured in some other or have higher dreams than IMS

so i think in top 300 some 35-40 people wont take admission .

i may be wrong in this calculation but it gives good idea of what to expect.

bhai my freind has got 450.5 marks and her rank is 313 so ithink 450 marks must be equal to around 320th rank....................my rank is 298 and i have obtained 452 marks.................any idea wether i can get iips with this rank or not?? ..........

i dont think that u can get IIPS with rank .....
may be prestige but i think chances are slim
u need to know exactly how many seats are their in IMS/IIPS/Prestige.
than how much are for u (general boys)

i dont think 88 persons will leave admission.
30-35 may leave but 88 is huge no.

any way see u on 29th in bhopal ..... akele khade rahna ajeeb sa lagta hai (if u are coming alone and not with parents)

anyways has anyone got any idea about the documents to be taken in counselling as i am in first day ... thats 29th.

i have recieved score card but not call letter for counselling.

and i also want to know AIR of the guy with 450 marks just to know how many people are called on that day.

IMS have 120 seats and 60 seats for Reserved candidates (sc+st+obc+female)
And if my 30 rank is among all classes then I sure get IMS? coz they have 60 seats for reserved candidates.

depends on how many girls are there in top 29.
cos 60 is complete but are furthur divided into different categories.
