Dude..I would encourage you to apply.Furthermore As the iims are still to come up with results, a lot of 99+ will apply,(acads screwed a lot of them this time,and i am no exception),but that does not dilute your candidature, in the final run..

Any tentative dates for the results to pour in....I had my interview atleast a month ago. The wait is really seething anxiety.

p1:: So how Good was ur Quants instructor. Its very difficult to teach quants to engineers, as they always are in denial mode to learn more maths..
me:: didnt know !!! whether this was a question or an assimilation

me :: Yes sir, went for a visit during the ardhkumbh with around 10 guys of my batch ( Aur college mein kiya hi kya hai)

p2:: Did you take a dip?? Had a bath?? (and starts laughing hilariously)
me:: I joined him in the laugh. And then answered the ArdhKumbh happens in winter and the water is very cold. so we just watched and came back.

Again a roar of laughter by all three of us.

p1:: so what can you relate as management learning there?
me::(back to my serious self) told about the huge gathering as well as the congregation of all the sadhu who might get vitriolic even in slightest unease and may amass communal and public violence . So the management took very fine details of almost all the minute dependencies.

P2:: But still u didnt take a bath. That is not acceptable. People from allover India come over to have a holy dip and you guys missed.

If this is not insanity, tell me what is..
I dont know is our HRD directing them to do so or they are cooking it by themselves. Because Its really tough to digest that these marking schemes are conjured by someone who has even a tinge of an idea, how diverse the state of competitive exams in india is, and himself been a part of it..Really sad day!!!

Guys excel in academics and get into IIMs so that you can become their faculty one day. And remember the most failures in their career are those who excel in academics. You can inquire about IIM faculties, u will realize the same. Those faculties are hardcore academicians and they want us to be the same. They will realize what a manager is if they work in corporate sector.

IIMs lagging behind other top B Schools in the world because of their lack of creativity and those bogus faculties. If u really want to succeed in ur career don't join those bullshit IIMs.

Please refrain from passing such judgements about IIMs..and to their faculty.There are guys who have deep rooted respect for the word,the institution and the people over there, and they have achieved significantly in their lives, and should not be dealt with such blasphemy.

IIM I made a hash of my hopes today.56% of weightage to criteria that were atleast 8 years before the exam. Could not get an IIM-I call at 99.80, as had screwed up my XII exams with a meagre 65%. Then what, keep getting screwed by all the institutes for rest my life.
If this is so quintessential to open the gates, why not take a subjective exam of subjects like sanskrit, biology and social sciences, apart from your ususal stuff that you plainly dont give significance.
By these criteria, atleast 90% of the applicants in my institute, would not qualify irrespective of the CAT results..Poor guys just wasting their time and money!!!
Being an engineer was once a matter of pride..
The same happened to IAS exams a couple of years back, when they could not explain,the huge number of engineers getting through.When they set up an enquiry, the report explained that the engineers were the same guys in the upper brackets of the class who almost invariably chose mathematics as the most interseting subjects...
IIM A equating a CPI of 9.5 of a engineer to 6.5 of humanities. Try explaining that to an IITian....probably he wouldnt even continue this discussion..
