i have appplied to the HKU..I have submitted the online application and uploaded all the documents (transcripts+ degree scroll scanned + GMAT report+other docs)..
I am wondering whether i need to mail any thing by POST as well?
Please let me know if i need to post the hard copies as well even after uploading the digital copies??

I am a keen follower of the posts on PG trying to gather as much info as possible during this tedious process of applying to B-schools!! Needed a few pieces of advice from you bro..

# 6 years of work experience;
# 5 Year Integrated Mtech from IIT Kharagpur (specialisation in Petroleum engineering)
# have worked with major multinational Oil companies; worked in Massy, France while with a French oil company (CGG-Veritas); Worked in Cairo, Egypt for 1 year with Geotrace, an US based oil company; had been working for another Oil conglomerate GGS-spectrum for last 1.5 years from Woking, London; have spent over 1 year timeon seismic/oil rigs/vessels with international crew..

Unfortunately, I got laid off this july-aug in a retrenchment drive by my company. I had already been toying with the idea of going for MBA (1 year) when i lost the job. However, i saw this as an opportunity to address My MBA aspirations. But i do seem to have rushed into GMAT a bit so as to meet some deadlines for i fetched a not-too-great score (640, 5.5) on 25th dec 2009. I am still pretty keen to be part of any 2010 b-school batch. I would seek some serious advice from you regarding what could be the best way to take it forward.

1. I understand with my late GMAT i can only apply in round 2/3 so i do have a limited chance. I have shortlisted asian schools Nanyang, HKU, SPJAin singapore so far. What schools you think i can apply to with this GMAT score and my profile?? please guide.

2.i have scheduled another GMAT appointment on 25th jan 2010 hoping to fare better. Let's see how it goes. Due to financial constraints and some personal preferences i would like to go for Asian schools or UK schools. I would also like to assess my chances in UK schools like cass, warwick (with present GMAT score) and cranfield, cambridge, oxford (if i fetch a better gmat score).

3.Let me know if i am missing out on something.

4.I cant get much info about NUS..I would love to get any help about the program about it//.??

Cant help saying that all the recent posts on this forum are making me kinda nervous...looks like a mayhem!! I guess everybody sprinting to make it in the round 1 so desperately..makes me nervous about my chances coz i can ONLY apply in round 2 now..
Anyway, i will try to speed up the application process a bit..

I have been going through your posts trying to gather as many informations and tips about applying to nanyang. Still, i am struggling to figure out a few stuff.

1. Can't i ask my referees to send the their respective reports by email at mba.admissions@ntu.edu.sg?? I have downloaded the referee form.. I will send them to my referees, ask them to fill it up and email directly to the above address... Getting the reports sent BY POST seems totally impossible for me.

2.All other documents--resume+transcripts+degrees etc...Do they need to be sent by POST only?? Or can we submit the scanned copies of each of them by mail??

3.If the referee reports and other docs can be sent via email, is there anything at all that need be sent by post?? I would be happy if i could avoid the snail mail stuff...

Please guide me on the procedure... would be extremely grateful for that..

Of late i have been squirming to expand my expertise-corridor. My ultimate aim is to deal in consultancy or Finance; former being the preference.

however, i seem to have rushed into GMAT..gave myself just 8 weeks of preparation and took it on 24th dec. I Fetched a heart-breaking 640 (Q-47, V-31). This has put me in some serious thinking mode.

1. I have scheduled another GMAT appointment for 25th jan coz i really do feel i could have performed much much better. My doubt is whether i should i still fire in my application for Nanyang with current score?? Wouldn't my low GMAT score geopardizing my chances, if any??

2. Or should i wait till 25th jan, see whether i get a better score and the apply?? wouldn't that make me too late in applying and erode away wateva chances i ever had??

3. Is there some way in which i can apply with the current GMAT score, prepare a good application but mention somewhere that i will be taking another go at GMAT in a month's time and would like the new score to be considered (of course, assuming i fetch a higher and better score)?

In short, what should i do?? Should i apply NOW or LATER with new and hopefully better GMAT score??
I will be extremely thankful to get the answer.
