If you could throw some light on the job opportunities, it would be of gr8 help. No doubt, Cranfield is one of the most reputed universities in the UK but most of the people are apprehensive about the job prospects post MBA. It is one of the major concerns specially amidst the current financial situation, and the fact that there are no "so called" campus placements in the UK and people have to hunt for jobs themselves.

If you want statistics then Cranfield has faired far better than any other school in this gloomy situation. The school of management does assist you with placements. There are regular career fairs and alumni networking events were many, if not all, get their job. One thing of caution is that you have to be realistic. If you have spend substantial part of your career in IT development and delivery you cannot ask for a senior position in an Invesment Bank. More often than not it will be a junior position, since you do not have prior experience in that relevant area and you are banking on your MBA knowledge only. This is true for all schools and even in real life scenarios.

There are always two sides of a coin, so you will hear contradictory stories. Most people who get jobs early are the ones who believe in themselves, their capabilities and work hard towards the industry they want to join from the very beginning. If you read the blogs of the last year students you will realise people who believed in themselves got the jobs.

The career service department at Cranfield, is perhaps the best you can get. They work hard to make sure that the students are well placed. Another important factor to remember is that given the reputation which Cranfield has industry demands high quality students from Cranfield. So you have to be better than rest and having the Cranfield name you will have gone that extra mile but after that it depends upon your preparation (I can be more specific about this after you get an admit).

The alumni network is extremely strong. I got two job offers, from my alumni. They introduced me to the organistion and helped me at every step. So you can definitely bank on the network.

Also, the financial crisis is at its peak now and would have mellowed down by the time you graduate. So the best to do now is concentrate on GMAT. get a good score.

HSBC offers loans for students applying to LBS, Cambridge and Cranfield, therefore you can get assistance from them. The cost living may vary from place to place. It is cheap at Cranfield since it is far away from the city. So for me it is around 600 per month with my partner. With a kid you can estimate it to be around 800. This figures are indicative numbers again and may drastically vary.

Cranfield is a fantastic school to pursue a MBA. It is not well recognized well in India, because of the fact that the school has not made much of an effort to market itself in India. Cranfield is ranked 11th in world by the Economist.

Cranfield has a very good Industrail reputation and I believe that is what matters. also the batch strength is small which is very good for interactive learning..

Hello everybody,

The business schools in UK mostly prefer people who have at least 3 years of exp. About the GMAT score it varies between different schools. But generally a score close to 700 is a very good one. If you have a very good profile schools even accpet low GMAT scores..

Most of you are concerned about jobs, well unlike Indian B-Schools, in UK you have to make a lot of effort from your own side. The school will help you networking and they will also invite companies for career fares, but it is entirely left to the individual how they utilize these opportunities.

Unlike popular belief the economy in UK is not bad, there are jobs and in every sector, it is how well you snatch them.

One reco is still pending and I guess that\'s why they are holding the decision of whether to interview me or not. Can any one give an ide of how the interview is ? Also has any one applied to the imperial MBA ? Have got a interview call from them.

Victor, I had my interview even before one of my referee submitted the reference form. So I presume they will start processing your application as soon as they receive the documents, even though one of your reference form is missing.

To iterate what Ashok has mentioned, the tone of the interview will calm and casual and the initial part of the interview wil dwell into what you would have mentioned in your essay. The interview would then slowly start taking a course towards some contemporary issues and would end by questions like 'how would you contribute to Cranfield ?' But I am sure it will be a good experience for you.

Imperial is a good college, I have a friend who is pursuing his MBA there. The MBA there is not as much recognised as the other colleges. Also check out whether they feature in HSMP list. I know that this list might be removed, but you never know they might even retain it.

Or is it that it is just one page letter of reference type. Please advise on this as I want to close the process quickly. Already feeling late in the gae :(

Don't you worry too much. One of my referee submitted his reference after I got my admission (it was a conditional offer based on fact that I had to submit another reference).
They start processing your application as soon as you submit your application and then they inform you about the interview date. You have a good profile. (I do feel sad that you got left out by Cambridge), and I sure you will get an interview call and will get an admission.
