Has anyone here received acknowledgment for submission of CSE application form? i am a bit concerned since its been 20 days of sending the same & as m applying for the first time...

i have also applied for civil services prelims this yr for the first time..never aspired to be an IAS before but coz of few incidents in my life last yr i m really interested and feel confident of making thru...i ve opted for psychology & management...m presently working in a PSU bank..time is of constraint but with committed approach feel will sail thru..wish all aspirants all d best!!!

Interviews for bank PO are as important as Written test coz even few marks of difference can change the ranks. But to say its not very hard or needs any serious kind of preparation. Its open discussion to know about ur past, ur attitude, ur interest, ur stentgths, ur favourite subjects, ur work experience, ur opinions to some situations, & ur interest in banking eg what is banking....qns in interviews are endless...
80% of marks in interviews what i feel comes thrugh ur manners, appropiate body language, clear expression of ur thoughts, keeping answers simple and remain calm & composed in entire discussion. Say no to qns if u r not clear of or in doubt. Never b in hurrry to answer any qn that require good thinking but at the same time not take a long pause. Body language is very important..the way ur facial expressions are, ur gestures ..ur eye contact....20% goes to ur technical/ subject knowledge, about banking, balance sheet, or any figures.
Bank PO Interviews are not very tecnical, they probe in earlier part of ur life and check ur decision making through opinion seeking qns.
For interviews also little practice will help..prepare some common qns (as to b clearer about onself and to highlight ur acheivements)...dono mug up these word to word but understand what ve u written & wats the logic u followed.. practice infront of mirror on some current topics & few imp qns to better ur facial expressions & gestures. At the same time do not be very serious...be confident, calm & relaxed.

As per my information for PO qns & answers remain d same for everyone its only different test forms r given, so its unlikely that u had the option, though to check could u tell us ur test form no... mine was 333 and had none of these as an option instead of 25.

@piks123...true many answers were none of these and u r right current SLR is 25% after RBI came with monetary policy review it increased SLR by 100 basis points, rest rates were unchanged. With ur no. of attempts u ve a fair chance to qualify for the next rounds if u got good accuracy so do not worry.

hello everybody....
I am going to take the bank PO exam for the first time. I am quite descent in reasoning and quant ..but I am really not aware about the other sections. I wud very much be thankful if someone cud give me a better insight abt the bank PO exams....like what are the areas to be stressed on.
Also if u cud provide me details abt the right set of study material...like which book wud suffice for the preparation. How abt GK ....is thr any specific book to be followed ??
I wud very much appreciate if someone takes pain to answer these questions.

Its good that u r confident in Quants & Reasoning. Generally there r four sections in PO examz Reasoning- 75 qns, quants- 50 qns , English-50 qns & GA & Financial awareness- 50qns.(distribution of qns & marks is sent alongwith admit card tat we receive- 10days prior to exam) and time is 135 mins. All questions in the exam can be solved and attempted but the exam is the matter of speed and accuracy. One has to qualify in all the sections seprately and score good marks (even 1 mark of diff could make 100 places of diffference at times) as tens of thousands of ppl give tis exam.

1. Very Imoprtant is practice to increase speed (all qns can b soved...its boring to solve it repeatedly as we know it can be soved but defenitely practice will increase speed).
2. Know which qns takes less time and which qns takes more tyme to solve. Skip those that takes tyme..its not a matter of pride solving the qn even if u r stuck & u know it can b soved but u r actually losing on time. There are plenty of questions in each section to solve and to skip.For quants & reasoning many qns come in a set of 5. Know which one u can solve easily and focus on those first.
3. Divide tyme appropritately knowing ur strength and keep 5 mins extra time in the end to be used in case one has not solved enuf for qualifyin in one section or to score more in skipped qns tat u know.
4. GA is the most neglected section by many and is the differentior in this examz since it takes less time but has the equal marks as of quants & reasoning. For GA current affairs read 2-4 months previous issues of Banking Services Chronicle/ PD before exam. Read Finacial management book graduate standard for financial & banking terms. Solve online GK quiz or frm other magzines.
5. Take mock test atlest 10 nos. ( again Banking services chronicle has good sets/ u can also get these online) before ur 1st exam & try using ur strategies & improvin on ur mistakes earlier to better ur marks.
6. Do not waste time much on searching information and start preparing with what u have with u. PO examz are not very difficult to crack once u know what u r good at & where u r wastin time. & Never b tempted to go for guesses if u r unable to solve leave tat in particular to GA.

As for the cutoffs for IDBI I feel
1. Reasoning - 45-48 out of 75 ie. 48-51 marks out of 80
2. Quants- 24-27 out of 50 ie. 29-32 marks out of 60
3. GA- 20-22 out of 50 ie. 24-26 marks out of 60
4. English- 22-25 of 50
above is not attempts but correct attempts (100%)...
will make one to qualify for the next round.
