Hi Virtuoso,
Imagine you are running the admissions committee, you have 240 people on the first list, and as always there would be people who might not join due to various factors.
You come up with a list of people, who are wait listed, now suppose there are 100 such people, and all 100 keep on calling you to know their wait list numbers, would you be providing them?
The reason why they are not provided is that in the wait list also there would be folks who would not join, or shall we say demonstrate their intent of not joining by not paying 50k.
So whats the point of giving 100 people their rankings, and then coming up with another list after consolidating the list of people who have paid.
This is precisely the reason why the cut off to submit the fees is 15th, Post that, I am sure, the waitlisted candidates would be getting their numbers, Shreye has already provided his first hand experience of wait lists, you cannot ask for more.
You are calling all this disgusting, I am not sure, what you would call the college, run by an engineering conglomerate, where in the offer letter itself, they clearly mention, that no refunds would be provided if you withdraw your admission.
Trust me GIM towers over all such Institutes, admitted, there have been some glitches, but things are only going to get better.
I have passed out of this Institute, 3 years back, and I am proud of the fact, that GIM is one institute which lives by transparency, We even went to the extent of inviting Apurv and Rohit, the editors of Pagalguy, to come and be a part of the placement process. They were there, even when the placement report was being made.
Can anyone BEAT that.
Please everyone, there is nothing more that you can do as of now, those who are on the merit list have made it, and those who are in the wait list, would have to bank on, people on the merit list taking up admissions somewhere else/dropping the idea of MBA and people higher up in the wait list too doing the same.
GIM is unlike any other BSchool, take my word for it. You have got to be there to realize this.
I really wish that you get into GIM, so that I see you eating your words!
Apologies won't help Ruchir. Man what is the sense of asking for 50,000/- INR when you can't give the wait list no. Blunder after blunder.... how much we will take it??? Don't even know how many people on the wait list.
Puys who are on the second merit list, please confirm your seats in other colleges, i really hope these GIM people have not done the idiotic thing of putting all others on the waitlist like Great Lakes. Disgusting....
