When will the offcampus for MBA 2012 passouts be conducted by Infy this year? It is conducted in May and Oct every year, but this year uptil now there are no updates regarding this. Pls help,i am an ex-infoscion and left infosys for doing MBA. Now want to join Infy back.

I am not in a position to give u exact date for offcampus this year
because economy is going through turbulence phase and Infosys is also
feeling it's heat.Being an ex-infoscion and if ur college even comes under some repute institution u can get the privilege of directly contacting HRD through some means or friends.You might get an ouside chance of giving interview if u have relevant work-ex of working in any ERP prior MBA.

Infy usually fires engineers for the under performance in training.

Is it the same case for MBAs too with the role of "Associate Consultant"?

Infy don't have exit policy for "Associate Consultants" on the basis performance in training.It's only applied for engineers.

Thanks a lot ... but this line confused me. If as per you, Deloitte is mainly consulting then that offered by Infy is not purely consulting ?

Also, does this require technical work like coding, testing etc?

Infosys is a service provider company not a pure consulting and consulting is just a part of it.I m only talking about roles and work offered.There are examples where people being on bench for long were allocated to work which is not related to consulting and it may happen in any company.

Can someone throw some light for Associate Consultant position offered by infosys across B Schools ....
Details as in the nature of work, the growth scope, onsight opportunities and how different it is from that offered by Deloitte and/or Capgemini.
Also, what would be scope for a good switch after say 2-3 years to a big 4 consulting firm.

Infosys offers Associate consultant for freshers and senior Associate consultant for those having above 3 years of work-ex prior MBA for consulting domain.you will be put in some or other ERP like SAP,Oracle,peoplesoft,Tibco and the work will be focussed on working in tools comes under these vendors.
Growth opportunities are very good and onsite opportunities will depends upon your project and role in it.The role offered by Deloitee is almost same but the work profile could be much better than Infosys as it's mainly focussed on consulting.
There are always good opportunities for switch but going for big 4 and package will depend upon ur technology.

Adding to the above point, you get the TPI component aferr completing your probation period i.e. one year.

you will get TPI just after completion of ur training.you don't need to wait for completion of probation period which ll be training + 1 year in production almost around 1.5 year.

If your CTC is 3.25 and you have scored above 4.5 and have been confirmed with a 'B' band (the most generic case) you would get around 26500/- in hand (approximately 96 % of your salary)
then it also depends on whether you can save close to 1 lakh of your salary in a year or not

I would like to correct you my dear friend regarding this tat person comes under band "B" and scored above 4.5 will get 26500.As per my knowledge and norms it ll be 23500 and even if u score 5 maximum which u can get is 24500 in hand.
The differentiating factor is TPI(TRAINING PERFORMANCE INCENTIVE) which will vary as per ur score.

i am passing out B.E in info science , in bangalore , i got infosys job as a system engineer. i am in a dilemma because i got E & Y job as an analyst under IT risk and assurance , package is 2.5 lpa + benefits, but this is not a coding job . i am confued whether i must take infosys or ernst and young , infy salary is ctc 3.25, i want to know certain things

1)which job profile is better ?
2)will i be given maintenence in infosys for this salary ?

plus i will do am mba in one or two years

Hi dude,

your allocation to particular unit and technology in Infosys is not yet decided.It will decide in mysore at the time of stream allocation.If u ll be put into ERP either SAP,ORACLE,PEOPLESOFT or any then you don't need to do any coding, It's al about configuration and profile is also good but if u get anythng like java,dotnet u have to do coding.so it's total fortune.
If ur planning to do MBA from operations then E&R; ll be best and if it from any other stream I m not sure.
I m not getting your second question,It's always good to use literal meaning than figurative.
