@ajaygovindg obviously that is what is making me a bit apprehensive...not the fact that what I will answer in the interview, but the simple fact that what if I find my job post MBA boring as well :)...so, I posted my situation here so that ppl like you can come up with suggestions....since you are already in a b- school, you can tell me better if according to you it will be a better idea to go for an MBA from here....we can continue through personal chat, in case you feel that will be more prudent

@ajaygovindg Why I switched to IT dept? lat time I scored 96.53%ile in CAT which could not entitle me to take an admission to the b- schools where i had applied. was fed up with the boring S/W job and so needed a break...Luckily, SSC results came and I was selected...so i left TCS and joined over here...also, felt that if I decide to go for an MBA later on, this will add diversity to my profile...

Why MBA? I feel that life post MBA will be more dynamic...Government jobs are extremely stable, but then at some point of time stability is a bit boring...

regarding 8 month job ex: Yeah, it's not that significant..but then consider the case that I decide to do an MBA in 2014, by that time I will be having close to 20 month of job exp in IT and add 20 months of my TCS job exp...

@saikatha I have not decided anything as of now... since the result is about to be declared, I just posed this query for the opinions of fellow puys...

I worked in TCS for 20 months and after that switched to central government job by clearing the Staff Selection Examination...Currently am working as an Income Tax Inspector in Kolkata since the last 2 months...Now, my question is that is going for an MBA prudent from here? Obviously, most of us will answer that it depends on what my life goals are but is not that answer a bit too cliched? and second thing, is this experience of Income Tax post an IT experience going to help me in case I am selected for the interviews?

Hi, best of luck to everyone appearing in the exam...

Try to score as much as you can as the marks obtained in Tier 1 will also contribute to your final rank...

And in case, someone is not able to score very high marks in tier- 1 but manages to clear the cut- off, don't loose hope...I appeared for SSC last time and after Tier-1 my rank was approximately 3000 as I neglected GK completely...But by the time, the final result was declared, my rank improved to 125...

So, try to score as high as you can but just in case you are unable to do it for any reason, don't loose hope...Be focussed and things will fall in place...

P.s: Just in case, anyone needs any sort of suggestion, feel free to PM...
