I agree Ayush, GIM is a good college,no doubt but it would be a tough call for me because we can't neglect pay package also (my personal opinion) that is why I wanted to know this from those who are already pursuing MBA from GIM. With approx 4 years of exp and 6+ package should I go for GIM.

Please advice.

It's good that you are giving this a serious thought. And you should be. With 4+ years of exp. and 6 lakhs salary I would say that you have a lot at stake. Choose your options wisely.

If we consider your options in monetary terms, when you pass out from here in 2 years time you would be earning just as much as you would have, had you continued on your present job (Assuming the average package here). The chances of you getting less than this would be pretty low. So you won't be losing out on anything.

The question is will you be gaining anything substantial to justify your decision to join GIM. There again, as Mayur rightly said if you end up at the upper extreme of the salary bracket you would have benefitted quite a bit in monetary terms.

Secondly, you would want to consider the change in work profile and the growth opportunities thereon for you.

Think over these lines, and take a call. All the best

In case you do have an original operating system and office and the necessary papers for it then I don't see any reason why you should spend any more money buying anything else.

If you are considering buying the laptops from the college, the bulk deal results in the laptops coming a bit cheaper with more goodies. Inspite of this many students preferred to buy it themselves last year. Consider your options well. Thats all I can say

In a way I do agree with you that it sounds a bit unjust. I felt that way when I joined. I din't see any reason why I should be forced to payup for this. But then some rules need to be followed and probably they exist for a reason :)

As of now, yes you need to show proof that you have original Microsoft OS or else buy it from the college.

yes since i got 75 percentile in quant, dey asked me abt my marks in math in 10th and 12th jst to be sure i wasnt dat terrible wid numbers..so i guess ur sectionals wud also be considered..

Don't really worry about your marks. It is secondary during this stage of evaluation. If you've put up a decent show then you'll definitely stand a chance irrespective of your percentile or marks.

I feel something like this would make a great impression on the panel. Work for a noble cause is always appreciated and shows character. Try to project this in the interview. It could serve as a huge advantage for you. Good work. Keep it up...!!

I don't think it is compulsory unless it has been mentioned explicitly. However I think you should carry one along. You could use it to your advantage.

There has been a lot of talk about the MOCK GDs, SKYPE etc....is it just in anticipation of GDs being introduced this time at GIM or has there been any confirmation that there WILL BE GDs this time?
