This is my first post in this thread. I am Arun, a current GMP student. Life @ GMP is exciting. I had been to Manila for a wonderful three week trip as part of the international immersion programme of GMP. It was a great learning experience and the Filipinos are amazing hosts. A detailed account of the trip is available in the attached file.

Reg. the SBI bank loan, is it possible to get it processed at any branch other than Jamshedpur?

Hi I am new to PG. Waitlisted at 39 for GMP. I too need the details for the 30K deposit
in favor of ? , payable at ? , address to be sent ?
any specific things we need to write b/s of the draft ?
Also any covering letter or Xerox copies need to be sent along with the Draft etc....etc...
Are all the letters arriving by BLUEDART or local ones too??
Last time i got the interview letter at Amritsar just 4 days before the due date..

The DD has to be drawn in favour of XLRI, Jamshedpur and payable at Jamshedpur. The address to which the DD has to be sent is not mentioned in the letter but I guess it has to be sent to the Admissions Office, XLRI. It has not been mentioned in the letter that we have to write any specific details at the back of the DD or that we have to attach a covering letter but it is very much advisable. It would be better to attach a covering letter including details like our name, address, XAT ID, waitlist number, DD No., bank at which the DD was drawn, etc. Also, I am from Chennai and I was delivered the letter through BlueDart; I am not sure about other locations.

I am in the WL and I got the letter about half an hour ago. A DD for 30K has to be deposited by 30th April. The address to which the DD has to be sent is not mentioned but I guess it has to be sent to the Admissions Office, XLRI. Other info in the letter : if the call gets converted and you accept it, the 30K would be adjusted against your fees; if the call does not get converted, 30K would be refunded to you; if the call gets converted and you do not accept it, 20K would be refunded to you.

After speaking to one of my friends who is currently doing GMP and also through the posts in this thread, I came to know that changing the profile or sector is very difficult in the on-campus placements of the GMP programme. How easy is changing the profile or sector through off-campus placements after doing GMP? Could some of the present GMP students clarify on this?

Me from the 10th March morning batch too...had my interview at 9:45. Am at WL -2.

I am also in the "IN" list. My intrw was on 3 rd march. Talked to one of my senior who is presently a student in xlri gmp regarding placements. The news he gave was not very encouraging. One third of the batch is still not placed and the course is nearing completion. There were no marketing or finance cos visitng the campus. Institute is not supporting the placement. He said 2 yr MBA guys were placed in 3 days in January while gmp guys are still struggling. Dean and director says its not our responsibility to place you (gmp) guys !! (strange) . Now i am on a cross road, i cudnt make it to ISB and this is the news i get from xlri.

1/3 of the batch still not placed in the current market scenario?.....looks bad. Could the current GMP students please comment on this? Also, doesn't XLRI help in conducting placements for GMP students?
