Work-Ex: 5.5 years till april, 2011
Domain: 3 years Memory Chip design + 2.5 years Microporcessor design
Short international stay as per business requirement on B1, Award at work place (nothing different).
B.Tech: IIT Kgp, Electrical , CGPA: 8.63
XI-X: 90%-91%
Extra Curricular: So So..Job fair participation, NCC, NSS, Certificate from NGO
Publication: One international publication in a prestigious journal

BUT biggest disaster happened four days back..
GMAT: 640:banghead:, V27, Q50, AWA:5.5 ....result of my over-confidence after scoring 720+ in all practice tests..I can't retake GMAT before 1st Dec but isb deadline is 30th nov,2011.

I am sure that I will be rejected due to my poor gmat score..
However, if I wish to apply for isb this year, what are the pros and cons.....

Pros:- Isb provides feedback for profile improvement...If it mentions that, other than GMAT, there are other areas where I need to improve..it will help me in future while applying to isb.

Cons:-Could somebody elaborate this...Does it require significant improvement compared to previous application or If I work on their feedback, it will suffice..

How could it be that you are from IIT and score below 700 in GMAT ? Were you a quota candidate?

I had my interview on 30 October in Delhi. My interview was around my application only. But I made a mistake.

I had mentioned in my application that I worked on a whitepaper
on rural sector in India. I worked on it about 5 years back. So they asked me about solutions to rural sector problems. I mentioned grameen
bank in bangladesh
(microfinance
) then they asked me about if a similar thing existed in India and I said I am not sure.These days this is in news and I didnt
know it. I feel so stupid. Will this be a breaking point and damage all my chances?

Rest of my interview was fine.

Well, they were expecting you to talk about SKSMicrofinance. But given the controversies SKS has got into it is a very fine balance . They are little better than "kabuliwalah" lenders , they charge 25%+ rates and employ devious means to recovering loans. If it is any consolation , you might have landed into a very tight situation talking about SKS and its actions . I know a person who was a business development manager and now an MBA in Ivy league in US ; he is just as shady as the whole lot at SKS is turning out to be .

by the way , I have actually worked with Grameen and there are horror stories there that you don't wanna know. Press in Bangladesh isn't as free as in India , so these stuff never come into light.

No doubt it showed your ignorance on current affairs , but you may just be better off by having failed to respond to that question .

If you want to get management education , why don't you take a course in English grammar first?
