The sole reason for my applying for RJIPT was to get into a PSU. But during the PI I came to know that most of the PSUs have 27 as their cut off age for general category . I will be 28 during the placement (in 2012).
Going through the past posts I found out that I would be eligible for ony ONGC. Is their any other PSU for which I would be eligible (OIL or Gail)?

If below 30 u shd be able to attend placement process of IOCL, GAIL, ONGC and OIL when they visit the campus for placements.This criteria was followed for 2008-10 batch.

as far as 2010 passout batch is concerned GAIL did nt have a upper age limit and all RGIPT ians were allowed to sit for the placement process. but it is likely that they may have a age limit as most PSU's have. btw if somebody is below 30 during passing time he would get to attend placement process of some of the PSU's, but if age is above 30 there is high risk he may not get to sit for a PSU.

rgipt is just 2 yrs. old and every institute takes time .. mica, irma , iifm , iift all took some time to gain popularity and so it'll be with rgipt .. once the full fledged campus comes up at jais the brand name will grow exponentially

placement details can be found in the institute website. details of companies and CTC is there.but exact ctc is never displayed even by the IIM's and XLRI.

when will be the new campus ready

wat perks are offered in psu approx idea

in hand would be 40+ after taxes...apart from that perks would include car n bike maintenance allowance,PC & furniture maintenance allowance which is 10k+ and also Leave travel concession every 2 years.
some other perks like fooding etc are also there which we r yet to know.

btw new campus was supposed to be ready by 2013-14..the design n all are already done...hopefully main campus at jais should be fully funtional in 3-4 years

ur CAT %ile is low.so chances r less if ur from General category..

I have gone through the school's website carefully but I was not able find any mention about the mandatory disclosure required for an AICTE approved institution.As per the AICTE guidelines all institutes need to have some information like Director's profile,Faculty list,AICTE registration no. of current students,Cutoff Percentile of previous years,per annum fees, etc.Can any of the seniors please throw some light on this issue

This is for your information that RGIPT is an instt of national importance under an act of parliament and along the lines of the IIT's and these institutes come to existence only after the act is passed by the parliament of India.Further such institutes are empowered by parliament to award degrees on their own and dont require an AICTE approval.:cheerio: None of the IIT's require an AICTE approval as well.
Now coming to faculty,Director etc, the list is there in the instt website in the tab ," About RGIPT". Fees for last were around 4lac for the entire course...may increase for this year...percentiles for GD/PI were around 85 to 95%ile for Gen category.go thru previous posts for information in this regard .......For MBA batch08-10, u can see the student profiles in the placement brochure available in the instt website .


btw i have never seen an MBA instt of Govt of India displaying AICTE Registration number and names of its students.none of the IIM's or the IIT's show student names and AICTE details etc.

How many intervies can a guy who got placed already can attend!!! Sounds confusing....
Ok its like If I got placed in the first company that comes for placement.. later I wanna sit for another placement also!!! is that possible .. or do u have some thing like dream jobs in RGIPT....

If a person gets placed in a company he cannot sit for any other company after that.As of now there is no dream job kind thing . btw all PSU's which are the major recruiters over here pay approximately similar salaries.(8 -10.5 lac CTC)

its the rules and regulations of PSU's because of which they are offering E1 grade in some cases.but then the job profiles are pretty different for MBA's w.r.t. engineers..
And slowly companies are realizing importance of engineer+mba and hence companies like BPCL & GAIL offered E2 grades.
Now coming to profiles its mainly marketing & business development .Few cos like HMEL offered profile in supplychain as well.

actually the profile and package depends on company..for some companies its the E1 grade i.e. the one offered to GET's but others like BPCL, GAIL etc are offering E2 grade which is one step higher.
And the job profiles being offered to MBA's are like Sales, Corporate marketing, Business devt, Corp. planning etc.
Some pvt cos offered finance and supply chain profiles as well.
