hey anurag..good to know u gonna be joining...welcome aboard...and there is a yahoo group for your batch , u can join there and interact more with ur batchmates. As abt the workex...we guys have answered it tonnes of times..but what the heck...our batch we have 61% ppl with workex...but our senior batch they had 49%.....so that answers ur query...join the yahoogroup n u can post all ur queries there...ciao n congrats once again..

well like we mentioned in the other thread...acads r important...but more important is ur confidence.....n its a thin line between confidence and arrogance.....so check out there...

what role does the xat score play in the admission process

Well this year 800 calls have been issued and a similar number of final calls like last year can be expected. Rest,do the math urself. And yeah XAT score does play a role,but how much nobody knows.

well the answer to your question was there in one of my previous posts, but what the heck. Well usually there are around 700 calls total including domicile and non-domicile. The number of seats are 120. I guess the rest is simple math. But dont you worry about the numbers. Just give it your best and forget about the rest. ciao

well you have it easy for you out there. Coz for a subject like marine engg i doubt if anybody will be able to question you on that. ANd to top it off you have more than 4 yrs of work ex. But they may research a bit and ask you stuff on it. But wouldnt be so tough.
What you got to be prepared for is expalining why the shift from marine engg to MBA. Prepare for do you think your four years of work ex are gonna help you after your mba. and others. and similar questions.

well and for u guys out there,who wanna know everything today itself,well like i said ,take it slow. just start with reading the newspapers daily,few business mags, business world should suffice. Economic times if ur really that jobless,but atleast one newspaper for sure. One can never undermine the importance of current affairs. and all u guys get some batting practice for ur gd's. Litlle exposure never hurt anybody and it will fine tune you. So participate in as many mock gd's and interviews your coachin insti has to offer. About gd topics it could be anything,but if u been readin ur paper daily,it shouldnt be tough. Last time my topic was"Bureaucracy:hurdle to economic reforms". And about my interview and stuff shall write later.Dont want to exhaust all my resources on the same day:). Well hope you guys are enjoing coz after you guys come here,lifes gonna be a living hell. Just kidding.U gonna have the time of your life. This place rocks man. And no exxageration. Well enuf of self propaganda i guess.

U guess chill,have fun, relax, keep a cool head, feel proud,coz u are one of the select 750 out of the 15-20k odd applicants.

And yeah before leavin an answer to an oft repeated question: The reservation for domicile guys. Well guys if you want the facts, there are barely 35-40% domicile guys, And majority of them would have qualified anyways. I guess more than 70% of the domicile guys have percentiles over 90%. So it not like there is no fair cometition. Just give in your best. Dont worry about the reservation and stuff. Its not any easier for the domicile guy than the non domicile one.

first of all congrats to all u guys. ..good job. well abt the gd n pi. well all i can say is it varies little bit from centre to centre. But usually the interview is focussed on the acads atleast for guys who are freshers. So do brush up ur fundas. They wont be askin very tough questions. Just basics, so dont worry. Yeah they can stress you a bit but its not too hard too,very manageable.
And domicile guys who have stayed in orissa very less,do learn few things abt orissa,basic stuff.
And u it techies, u brush up ur fundas real well. IT guys have good interviews. so prepare well..
Well thats in general.specifics later. Frankly i feel u guys should party for some time and get to your books later. savour the moment.well congrats once again..and best of luck..ciao..
