QA-MODERATE...BUT SINCE I DONOT HAVE A GOOD SPEED, SO COULD MANAGE ONLY 10 QNS:banghead: (1 QN WAS DEFINITELY INCORRECT, 1 MORE SEEMED TO BE AMBIGUOUS)
DI-MODERATE....BUT ONE SET HAD CONFLICTING DATA:o

Need some help here. PLanning to appear for FMS next year with a weak profile: X - 81, XII- 63, Grad (Arts)- 68, Work ex- 3+ yrs by Jan 2011. (99.21 in CAt this year but weak sectionals, only call from IMT-G)

Can anyone advise what kind og profiles do FMS ppl look for. (Pls advise links to any such thread where FMS ppl have discussed their profiles)

last year according to previous thread calls were given till july and i belive tere were 3 waitlist. So u should be hopeful. regarding filling seats.
also it's a phenomenon that depend on cost that you pay to book your seat.

let me explain for example the fees in IIT Kanpur is very less like wise in many IIT's so people having confirm call paid the paltry fees and waited for the other calls to convert. And ultimately guys who got admission elsewhere joined there and didnot withdraw as they paid minimal amount against their capacity to pay. also it gave them safeguard backup seat. So ultimately no waitlisted calls could be given.As seats were booked and they didn't join the seats remained empty. It was not that faculty didnot consider people other than selected as worthy of joining but it was lethargy on part of many candidates to withdraw admission that is why many seats remain empty. You could find similar phenomenon in FMS waitlisted.

So You have to push the guys to withdraw if you find him in such forum and ask him to not to hijack other careers.

Fiesty as ever and the the conclusion, well, subjective as ever.
All i would like to add is: Congrats and best of luck to all the puys making it into such venerated institutes. And for those with such multiple calls, well, whichever college you choose it would remain a win-win situation

IIMs said so cos it was mandatory for institutes to do so....
now when the SC has given them more time to implement the quota, obviously they can do it in a better and phased manner.
IIM C has clearly stated that last year they had somehow managed 406 students even thoh there was no proper infrastructure to manage these many students. this affects the quality as well. I think this is the sole reason to reduce the number of seats.
N since these seats were to be increased for obc category then the rollback is obviously for obc categ only.
IIM C will increase its intake to 450 from next year.
