Had my IIMC GDPI in today's morning batch...

WARNING: Please carry photocopies of your extra curricular certis along with the originals...the verification panel asked for them even though they havent mentioned it in the call letter

Our GD was a case which comprised of discussing the pros and cons of the recruitment strategy of a consulting company from a B-school....

PI questions:
1. Tell us about yourself
2. Genesis of ur surname
3. Extra currics (nearly 10 mins on this)
4. What is the one imp thng tht Indian IT industry shd change in order to sustain its growth over the next 5 years, considering low cost is slowly but surely disappearing as its differentiator?
5. Is Infy taking measures for sustainable growth in the next 5 years?
6. Weaknesses and how do you plan to overcome them.
7. Do you find it difficult to take criticism? Do you go into a shell when criticized?

Got NITIE GDPI tomm..so keepin it short and sweet :)

Had my IIMI GD-PI on 28-Feb (afternoon slot) in Mumbai.Here goes my experience:

Case study: Guy takes VRS in the hope of getting a job in Canada; fixes up marriage; pays CAD 5k to company by borrowing from prospective father-in-law and his Dad's gratuity amount; finds no trace of company's website a month later

Decent discussion - made 5 interventions of around 25 secs each

Couldnt complete writing summary

PI:
Lady interviewer starts off the interview by asking me about my extra cirricular activities, one of which is following air crash investigations. Seems interested in this and asks me questions on it for around 5 minutes. I answer all her questions confidently, until the male interviewer intervenes and what follows is a barrage of questions that can best be likened to a rapid fire round in a quiz show:
What is RADAR?
what is RFID?Give one application of it.
how does the landing gear of an aircraft work?
what are the various aircraft control systems?
diff b/w uP and uC?
what is digitization?is it the same as computerization?
what are heuristics?define AI. What is simulation?What is mission control?wht is the concept of factory on chip?
and finally name the law which was passed to bring cyber crime punishable by law and when was it enacted?

Answered some of these confidently...gave up on 2...tried answering the others but the guy moved onto the next one before I could complete my answer. Dunno what to make of the interview
