hey abhra as i hav posted earlier wen i went on 6th may to pay d fees ,talkd to mr venugopal...
he said dere are 5-6 seats still to b filled...whc implied dat by 6th dere wld hav been sum 6-7 cancellations,
howevr d story has moved beyond dat so rite nw i mite not giv u exact staus as in hw many cancelltions n stuff...
other things he said was if i had any preference to anybody as in my roommate,since i was wid whizzkid aka anupam
,if u both wanna b togethr jus gimme in writing ur merit num and stuff n i will consider while alloting the rooms...
i said no m fine wid any1 n evry1....
he also said all mba core people wld b put up in one room...

hey guys m realyy sorry for posting so late...was travelling a bit n a trgedy at relativ's place...
I went on 6th to pay the fees n met whizzkid (he was supposed to pay d fees earlier bt due to his exams,
nmims gave him sumtime..)...dat day i met mr shetty he was very busy preparing brochure for part time mba students,
d course is due to b startd in a shrt while...(overheard his conversation on phone) all d queries were answrd as sum cancelltions n lets wait..it mite b
same trend as last year...

2. Annual charges for availing residential accommodation is Rs. 85,000/- for male students & Rs. 100,000/- for female students for accommodation at MKM Sanghvi Girls Hostel (excluding boarding charges, amenities and other services). (please refer Hostel FAQ)
   
3. Refundable deposit for residential accommodation is Rs.10,000/-.

It may please be noted that the institute has made arrangement for educational loan through Dena Bank, Juhu/Vile Parle Branch, Mumbai, State Bank of India, Juhu/ Vile Parle Branch, Mumbai and Oriental Bank of Commerce, Juhu/Vile Parle Branch, Mumbai subject to fulfilling of their requirement.

In case result of your degree examination is not yet declared, you will be admitted provisionally subject to your obtaining 50% marks and submitting the statement of marks and provisional passing certificate of degree examination on or before August 30, 2008. Please note that failing to meet this requirement, will result in the cancellation of your studentship and the fees paid will not be refunded.
You are requested to report on 09/05/08 for counseling and admission. Though the counseling and payment date has been fixed for 9th May, 2008, you can deposit the fee and complete your admission process even earlier between 11.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. Please bring with you originals of all the certificates as mentioned above. Please also bring with you Demand Draft drawn in favour of SVKMs NMIMS payable at Mumbai for Rs.2,10,150/-.
If you need residential accommodation, you are required to bring the residential accommodation form available on our website duly filled in at the time of counseling along with a separate Demand Draft as applicable drawn in favour of SVKMs NMIMS payable at Mumbai. You are advised to attach all the documents requested along with the residential accommodation form. Allotment of rooms will be informed in due course.
If you do not present yourself for counseling on the appointed date and time and/or pay the fees, it will be presumed that you are not interested in joining the course and this offer of admission will stand cancelled automatically.

The counsellor would not know this. Ideally, you should have. I got my mac from college in August so thats nearly 2 months. Its always to have your laptop from Day 1.
Foundation last year wasnt much effort so I dont know how it would work out.
And the group discount thing sounds great on paper, people have tried it for the past 2 years.

1) Why is the refund process so slow ? Is it lik dat only ?
2) Vat is d expected movement in merit n mangment expected ?
3) Is dere any vacancy in hostel ? Hw do u find d hostel ?
4) Hw many cancellatins has been done as of nw in both d categories ...?
