Is there anyone from Kolkata who has given a test at EIILM ? I know that TIME and Career Launcher regularly hold their tests there.

Is it a good centre for taking the CAT ?

hey guys, I have a questions that might not seem that important, but it has been bugging me after every paper I take.

During the tests, I usually use a register to do my rough work. By the end of the test, I have usually used up close to 4-5 pages (8-10 sides) of my register. In the actual CAT, is there a restriction on the no. of pages you can use for rough work ?

Was anyone able to solve the question regarding Base n ?

The question:

if (AB)n=5(BA)n, then what is the base?

I tried to wrack my brains around this one even after the paper. Just wasn't able to figure it out. How does one go about solving such questions ?

Sec 2 : 26A 20C ---> 54

Should have managed more. Section 1 was easy (probably the easiest yet).

Did anyone get the one with the students in a row carrying no.s ? I figured out that there is a cycle after 6 students, but my answer did not match any of the options.

Though I got less than my previous AIMCATs, there was a silver lining.

Section 1: 11A 11C 0W ---> 33
Section 2: 20A 15C 5W ---> 40

Total : 31A 26C 5W ---> 73

Got 100% accuracy in Section 1. But that's where the bad news starts. Too slow when solving section 1. Left all the DI questions for later, but never had the chance to go back.

People, please suggest some ways to improve speed in section 1.

Though I got a lower score than last AIMCAT (77), I'm expecting a better percentile than last time (89.79) based on the discussion in the forum.

From your experience, a consistent performance above what percentile is an indication that you can make it ?

From what I have seen for friends, its 95+ %ile (in the past two years).

I know its impossible to predict, especially since the test is not the same for everyone, but a rough estimate.

The final line states that what is the maximum AMOUNT that Moneylal can realise at the end of three years.

Does this not imply that we have to calculate the total amount (compound interest + principle) ?
