hey puys , I m a 2nd yr student of BCom hons. Am I eligible 2 give CFA(AIMR) level-1 in my 3rd year or just after d 3rd yr. Do I need any workex b4 giving Level 1 . I read sumwhere dat u require a combination of college and professional work ex dat totals atleast 4 yrs . Also, wat is d duration of a US bachelor's degree? is it a 3 yr degree or a 4 yr one .

i hav a similar query.. i am a bcom with 5 months work exp. I am not sure whether i am eligible for level 1. I even mailed the cfa institute asking them abt this, what they told me is that-- we shud first register, only then will our application be scrutinised for eligibility. If we arent eligible, our fees will be returned, deducting $100.

Now $100 is too big an amt to lose just becoz we arent sure abt the eligibity. If anyone has any concrete info on this, pls revert soon. it wud be of gr8 help..

does this mean that the second list is out and i am in the second list? i am abviously elated on receiving the mail ..but the offer letter attached and the email doesnt mention my name or other details.. i tried to cross-check on the site, but cannot get thru the admission's link.. can the seniors pls throw some light on this..? has anyone else got any such mail?

Well let me tell you my situation......and please dont laugh
i started of with CA when i was in FYBcom cleared my foundation course got sick and tired of CA never gave the inter exam completed my graduation in year 2005.....was sitting at my dad's local restaurant after that and preparing for the CAT cudnt manage calls from iims managed one from xlri messed up the interview.....gave the CET in a bad shape just scored 92 percentile and i dont think i will get anywhere with that percentile...so my dad doesnt want me to stay at his restaurant now ventured out for a call center worked for 15 days took the half salary and left the job(hated the process).........now i am preparing for my MCom which is on 17th...woooo thats the story till now ok now the main part what after my MCOM i am surely going to give CAT next year as i think it will be too harsh on myself if i dont so there i will have my sunday classes for cat but other than that what should i do please suggest something a language course, should i work somewhere,should i start my own business,should i do some diploma course damn it i am so damn confused lol

hey farhan..my point of view is this : since u are taking cat next year, u willl certainly need sufficient time for the preparations.. work+mcom+cat at the same time sounds quite hectic.. i would suggest u to go for some course+mcom +cat..
Now the course depends on wat u want to go for.. foreign lang is always an advantage esp if u want to go for an mba in international business ..
if u are looking for a career in finance, u can look at courses at BSE, NSE...
Besides..there are always 6-month diploma courses in good institutes like welingkar..
after u sail thru cat comfortably, u will still have time on hand and u can take up a job till u join the b-school of your choice.. hope it was of some help..all the best!

hi guys.. anyone having any info about NSE's course on Financial Markets (NCFM)? i am a commerce graduate.. got a call from welingkar and have my cet gd/pi in may.. i do not want to take up a job right now coz there are only 2-3 more months for july and i will take up any b-school that i get with my 98.16 percentile thru cet..
thinking of doing that course form NSE.. I already hold a basic certificate from BSE on stock markets.. will the NSE course add value to my profile?..
