Hi all...We have booked a flat near NMIMS...it is nice, located near college about 2km (10-15 min), near 4 Bunglows... Rent is 7K per month(for each) semi furnished (Bed + sofa ) plus deposit of 1 Lac (refundable) & 15000 as one time brokerage which will be shared equally among 4 people. We are 3 people joining in MBA -Core and looking for fourth person. Room on sharing basis. Preference:
Drinking: Occasional drinker is fine
Smoking: No
Rest person should be adjusting.

This I've experienced. After being rejected by IIM B & C. I got L & K converted & IIMA WL-01.
So, be optimistic.

I'm a 2011 passout of IIT Roorkee(Mechanical). Currently working with NTPC. I have been selected for the PGPM course of MDI. I am also in waiting list of XLRI BM( WL 101) and waiting for FMS results(not expecting a convert). I am a CFA Level 2 candidate & have some NCFM certifications.Average academic record (88% in 10th, 74% in 12th & 7.84 CGPA). So not shortlisted by 5 IIMs inspite of 99.69%ile. Hardly any extracurriculars. I need your help in deciding what would be better for me " Joining MDI this year or trying for XLRI,FMS,IIML next year". Or some other option like ISB/abroad. I want to make a successful career in investment management/finance.

Your XII marks are a serious threat to your aim of getting into IIM- A B (I wont talk of other IIMs as waiting another year for them is worthless considering you have MDI in hand).So you are targeting IIM-C L XL FMS. Considering you already had 99.69 and anything above that is a stroke of luck . Ofcourse your IIT tag mark will be a big positive in your profile but your non relevant work ex added to another year will be a deterrent to your profile (I am assuming you want to go into Fin)... Its all about weighing your options. Now to be blunt....if you want to do awesome jobs with awesome profiles only awesome college can get you that. Having said that.... in case you have slightest of doubt about your tenacity to hold on for another year, go ahead with MDI... because your job will be just a start (you have a big possibility of cracking one of the best job profile at MDI) and you will eventually land up to where you are worthy of.
It all depends what your heart says... in any case you don't have much to lose. Personally I would say go ahead with MDI and make the best out of it.
