Bcoz nowadays MBAs from simple colleges(by that I mean any clg outside the top 20 bracke)t are not able to provide 100% placement, and even the top most colleges are feeling the pressure of economic slowdown and hence lesser increase in Avg Packages, add to that the ever increasing fees. And everybody is not able to get admission in the Top 20 B-schools, so it makes better sense to run after a secured job like Bank PO without wasting money on MBA from a B grade college and regretting later with no jobs in hand. For most youngsters like me its not at all about Prestige or Govt job craze but being practical and grabbing a better option from a worse option.

For bottom grade colleges who were just providing degrees, They are having to shut down and file for closure since they couldn't provide placements and soon after some batches, the reality spills out and nobody takes admissions in them.

This is evident from the decrease in the no of applicants appearing in CAT and other MBA exams this year.

This trend has nothing to do Increased Work Pressure in Pvt sector but simply that there are no or very few jobs in Pvt sector due to economic slowdown and those inside the job are feeling the sword hanging as they can be sacked anytime because of losses and job cuts.
