Hello Seniors,

One question : Currently i am in the first waitlist for IB and not even in the second waitlist for PGDM. I know i have almost zero chance of getting a PGDM call (any chances?). Now if i do not pay the fees on 12th May for PGDM (IB), does this mean that i am completely out of the PGDM admission process? Or will they consider my application for PGDM course if the second waitlist also runs out?

PGDM and PGDM(IB) have separate lists and their waiting moves separately.
Your decision of not taking up PGDM(IB) won't have any effect on your chances of PGDM admission.

Hi Puys,



Have been getting a lot of queries regarding which B School to join and particularly with respect to SIMSR. Well, I was also in the same boat a year back and was desperately looking for any info. regarding this. With the inputs that I got and my own experience in SIMSR, here is my gyan. Hope it is of some help to you guys.


I have divided the aspirants into three broad categories, there may be more.


Category 1: People who can give another shot to CAT
Easy : Dont come to SIMSR if you think you are in a position to write CAT again and crack better colleges


Rest of the categories are for those whose this was the last CAT


Category 2: People who have only convert SIMSR or this is the highest rank college converted and are not sure whether to join or not
This is the most difficult category. Well, not really !!! You dont have any choice. Do you ???? If you are in MBA race just due to peer pressure or so called fed up with IT, you should join it otherwise you will never be satisfied. To be frank, most probably you will still land up in IT job only even after MBA. So its a very difficult call. I was in same shoes, eventually decided to go with MBA and SIMSR.



Category 3: People who have multiple converts and are confused between which college to take
Well, I can only speak on part of SIMSR, being my college.
Strengths of SIMSR being: Very good Location (Mumbai), Good college Infra, Good enough Brand Name, Less Fees so good ROI. All these make SIMSR a good preposition.

I can very well understand the mood of the junta at this juncture.
I was also there in the same boat an year back.

How it feels to miss the cutoff by a whisker, clashing of dates and so on..
But that is how the system works here.

All I can advise by my experience is that you will definitely get what you deserve, and for which you have put in the hard work.

puys, list is on its way and should definitely come out today, that is what the last conversation we had with the college authorities, so have patience..
