Well , this is a procedure adopted by most of the colleges and you need to trust the institute for the same.

And also, by now any aspirant would have a clue on how many takers are there for a seat at TAPMI, hence I also share the same opinion as the chairman that it will be a breeze for TAPMI to fill a seat in case anyone wishes to pull out. So rest assured, your money will still be yours

For everyone who is worried that Rs 10,000 ( paid as a sum of Rs 25,000 owing to the first installment) will be withheld by TAPMI which is against the AICTE rules.... I spoke with the chairman of admissions-TAPMI, He has mentioned that TAPMI will abide to the AICTE rule which says that If a candidate wishes to reject the admissions and he is replaced with a candidate in the waiting list then the institute has to retain only Rs1000 and refund the rest of the amount so although TAPMI will be holding back Rs10,000 as of now, it will automatically refund the rest of Rs 9000, once the seat is filled by a candidate from waiting list.

Hope this long post clears the doubt of many aspirants like me
