The question is not if Dalmia is better than PUMBA or vice versa. Question is do you want Marketing? then... SIES/PUMBA > Dalmia

OR Do you want Finance? then... Dalmia > SIES/PUMBA

So do not judge a college just from what cutoffs, rankings and name. Do see what you are interested in. Though, comparisons are not allowed on Pagalguy, so I apologize for this. But i could not resist replying to this comment.

Its of no use arguing (so called debating) on this issue. I feel its useless to go further on this. It is not going to change anything. So guys lets refrain from any further discussions and arguments. I hope you al understand what I mean. Rest is all on you.

Whew, just finished reading the later 2/3rds of this thread.. Intense.. And i had the foolish assumption for the whole of past month that there may not be a thread for this programme..
I have a question to anyone who is planning to take a loan n not living anywhere near delhi..
Have u obtained sanction on the loan? which bank? CBI seems to hv the best offer(Unless they hike the rates at a rate gr8r than commercial banks)
Mr Agg told me not to worry abt the loan n that i can take it from gzb itself.. But its always easier from a local bank..

Taking loan from Ghaziabad itself would be a better option, especially if you are opting for CBI. IMT will get you those guys in college itself ;). Or yes you can get it from your city, though they will finally direct you to the nearest branch in Ghaziabad of that particular bank (like me. got it from SBI).

Read through most of the post on IMT Ghaziabad Dual Country prog. I am 29yrs old and was preparing for CAT 2010. But I dont want to waste another year preparing. I came across this course and think its a good opportunity for me. It might not give me the best placement but I will get the IMT tag behind me for the rest of my life. I have around 8 years of work exp so I can make up later.
I am currently awaiting the results from the interview at Gzb. Let's see what happens. In the meantime do comment if you have more insight.

Firstly, All the best for your results. Dual country programme can be a good option for you. Though, you may want to try for executive programme at IMT-G. Give it a thought. Or else, take up this course if you feel its right for you.

Wow - it's great to see you guys keeping this thread going. I remember using this thread to speak to my (then) would-be seniors and our whole batch used to ask them qns etc. That was in 2005 (I was from the batch of 05-07) Its awesome - this thread has been kept alive for so many years!

I just went through a few first and last pages of the thread. Its really a pity to read all this.

Anyways, do take your decision wisely. As you all know Dual country course has 15L fees, no guarantee of how placements are going to take place and only thing what you will get is a certificate of IMT-G. I am not degrading this course, but it certainly is not worth it. People have considered other institutes instead of IMT-G because of fee hike from 8L to 11L and this was for the regular PGDM course at IMT-G.

So, now just think that are you going to gain enough from this Dual Country Course considering 15 L fees for it and 11L fees for regular IMT-G PGDM?...

Just think about it again. Frankly speaking I would think 100 times to pay 15L for even regular course. Whereas, the Dual Country Course is not going to give you the exposure you deserve at all. You will be paying double to what our seniors are paying and also for less value addition.

Lets say even if the placements do happen together, but still are placements everything? There are many people here trying make a splendid illusion of this course as if there was nothing better created on earth. But, guys believe me. It is not how it looks like!! It is practically impossible to place 560-570 students and above that Dual Country Course students will definitely be considered as different from the regular IMT-G PGDM students.

Guys, at 15L a student should definitely deserve better. This course is nowhere even near to good considering 15L fees even if you have scored 70 percentile.

Just my opinion... Rest is your choice!!

U seem to be under the illusion that "MBA" is better than PGDM or MMS
That is absolutely not the case Else the IIMs would be handing out MBA degrees and not PGPM's
The course name hardly matters
I don't know why so many of us from Pune Univ are obsessed with the UoP tag and its MBA
UoP is great for engg and other undergraduate courses Not that good for MBA

PS: I am a pune univ student and this is only my OPINION.

No offense but saying Pune University is not good for MBA is a little narrow minded... if it wasnt good other foriegn countries might not even accept it..its very much in par with the other indian universities

And course names dont matter in India but if you plan to go abroad i guess it could matter

FOR ur kind information IIM dont have PGDM they have PGPM
there is no mention of D ie diploma.
I am just saying that MBA/MMS is better than PGDM.
PGDM is good thing only upto First 5-6 colleges under CET.
(now dont argue saying XLRI and other good colleges also offrs pgdm We are not discussing CREAM layer insti. here)
INDIRA and CHETANA are at par same level colleges.
so after investing Same money why to get PGDM. and close some options

Wow! What a heated discussion...!!

My brother, an MBA (will not disclose the institute name here) in Finance is working at BIMM currently (right now temporary, later in sometime a permanent faculty). His friends, many of them from Indira, are still idle or got into jobs what they had left earlier before MBA (Now, guys not degrading Indira. But it is a case with many other colleges).

See guys, good and bad here is very relative. It is not the PU that is bad (Though, I myself feel MBA is not much good in Pune under CET). But, it is someone who might feel its good. Someone would feel its bad. Also, comparing colleges is not really a good option on open forums Lol.

But, lets say some people leave even IIM-A,B,C for FMS. But, some do exactly opposite. It is the factors that matter more. In this example, the fee is a big factor. Instead of FMS, if we put XLRI, still it does happen in case of a "specialization" factor (XLRI is apex temple for HR). Even if we say that things for cream layer colleges are different, but still such factors always come into a play.

And also, forget if its PGPM, PGDM, MBA, MMS or whatever. That actually has not much importance. For example, NIBM gives PGPBF. It is neither MBA nor approved from AICTE. But, all placements only by PSUs. I know why it is so. But lets not get into details. Do not go into a college which is not approved. But, PGPM or PGDM is not a problem.

So, maybe placements, specialization, infra, location, or faculty can together decide if which college is better.
