last year it was declared around 12-12:15 AM in the night, so you can expect the same this time too

@ all we should appreciate what badmaninheaven is doing, if it was someone else after all these posts one wouldn't have logged in day in and day out and replied to all these accusations and floating news about the college, after all he has nothing to gain and I am sure many students of welingkar who are on PG don't quite participate on the discussions which happen on the official threads just because people hit out rather than asking politely whether something they have heard is a fact or a misconception/rumor

And if someone is, even after taking all these hits, answering the queries rather than respecting his views we are lashing on to him even more, I respect you badmaninheaven not only for your efforts but also for being patient and replying to many queries which doesn't even need to be attended ( specially by some of the posters who solely have made their ids on PG to criticize the college, which is quite evident from their posts and join dates )

I simply fail to understand why people are continuously posting things which are there for everyone to see on the internet, is it that most of you take admission just through word of mouth, I can bet you don't, atleast people who are on PG are intelligent enough I can vouch for that, so why is that day in and day out some people are continuously posting all these, if one is serious about a college he will do his own research, it is definitely not an IIM and you wont get that kind of exposure, as I said before in weligkar if you want the best you have to be the best, as not everyone will get placed well, and placement is nothing but a reflection of your skills, effort and personality, and not all will have the best of them and some of them will certainly lag behind, and for the uninitiated a college is never responsible for a placement of a student ( In the US they will laugh if they hear something like the college will place you ), they simply at best may assist you, but our Indian colleges go a step further and try and place everyone, but in the end we should try and understand not everyone is worthy of a placement of their desires, and more often than not only those people will come out and vent their anger and frustration in form of defaming a college, rest assured if you are good you will be placed, and if you are not sure or can go for another attempt please do so, please dont compromise with your dreams, if you think you can get a better college please try your luck once more, there is no harm in doing so, after all an MBA will stay with you life long

Exactly, I request everyone to do so, and if one thinks that this college wont fit in their aspirations and goal, please dont force yourself in, MBA is something which most of us will only do once, so please take a well informed well researched and well planned decision

As for ICE ( In car Entertainment ) I would suggest go for JBL speakers 2x2 ( if you are going only for speakers without amplifier or sub-woofer/ the best in my opinion is polk audio but they dont come cheap ) and combine that with a pioneer/JVC HU ( head unit or system / again best in my opinion is clarion )

There is a huge difference between IIFT and Weligkar

Let me explain, almost everyone who writes IIFT, takes CAT/XAT ( so huge movement expected )
Not everyone who takes CAT/XAT applies to Welingkar

Again, IIFT conducts its admission process ( like most of the B-schools ) earlier than Welingkar that means when the gd-pi of Welingkar is conducted many would have already got admission

So the number of people opting out of Welingkar is much lesser than colleges like IIFT

The only ones who would leave would be those getting better colleges through CET or getting some long waitlist cleared

* Even if you get through PGDM B'lore its not a guarantee that you will get PGDM Mumbai in the next list, because many dont even apply for B'lore campus, and it is impossible to know how many people are above you in the merit list ( this doubt can only be cleared if Welingkar released a merit rank or final score )

I just want to clarify one thing to all, if one thinks that the college will embellish one with their dream placements, then please think again, no college can guarantee you a placement ( not even HBS, Cornell or LBS ), they at best can assist you

And if you want the best then you have to be the best, work hard to be the best, and try to be better than the rest

Rest assured if you are good and work hard to make yourself better and groom your skills to make you one deserving candidate for the better placements, you will surely not be deprived

So all this hue and cry about placements should be the last thing one should worry about, even if you are not placement ready, you have 2 long years to polish and develop extensive set of skills

The key here ( ah its everywhere ) is to work hard and shape yourself up :-P

P.S. You will get all the opportunities and platform to enhance your skills and knowledge, its upto you how you use it, after all MBA is very much different than BTech, that is why in the west they prefer applicants with relevant work ex before admitting them, you just have to understand the fine line of difference between the 2, some of us who fails to identify and expect a spoon-fed atmosphere will obviously fall face first and will be struck by the lighting of reality eventually. Cribbing is the easiest of all the acts followed by giving excuses, but as they say "if it comes easy it ain't worth it"

Well not everyone opts for placement and not everyone is placement ready, forget WE talk to students of top 10 B-schools you will be shocked by the revelation

Do you know the process of PG rankings ? If you did then you would surely not put this in, I am not from WE, I am not even aiming for WE B'lore but PG rankings are done by mere votes of puys and less people aware or present from a particular B-school never helps

Dont want to talk about this college, just get your research skills going and you will get to know the sorry state of affairs

P.S. I know you are an aspirant, and like you even I am one, I am not saying that this is a very good B-school and you should go for it, a B-school with its course and wealth of opportunities depends from person to person, for many the course stands out for many the placement, for some ( like me ) the industry exposure and healthy peer group along with a chance to interact with whos who of the industry, for some it is the city, you as an aspirant have to understand the bare fact that no one and I repeat no one can satisfy you with all your doubts, you have to do it yourself, its a matter of your career knock 1000 doors if necessary, trying to get all the answers from 1 place isnt acting mature, we all are aspiring managers and atleast we should manage to clear our doubts regarding any B-schools

I have seen people not trusting B-school students and alum here ( specially of those B-schools whose images are somewhat tinted by not so important reasons ) how can you even think they will trust fellow aspirants

Look one can only help you if you are ready to take help, its your fault if you take everything for granted and aspire to be spoon-fed, you have doubts even after a senior has given you all the answers or clarifications, do your bit of research and verify the facts, the internet is your servant and make sure you bug other seniors if you are not satisfied, rather than lashing onto the person who is here to help you.

I know one is anxious, tensed, but even I am in the same situation as you are my friend, act sensibly, you can very well be a respected MBA graduate one day, so please verify facts from innumerable sources available online or from seniors before getting more nervous

Haha rest assured I dont have any friends out here on this thread, I am acting from my own free will and have researched quite a bit about the course and the institute before replying, and please I am not forcing anyone to take admission, I will be very much pleased if everyone leave WE school, that will make my chances to prosper even better


P.S. Just a suggestion, if someone wants to remain incognito its his prerogative and he has every right to, its his wish whether he wants to reveal his identity or not, as a B-school student one may face consequences for stating something which may go against a user of any online forum, so 1 should respect the fact that he is atleast trying to help aspirants unlike the other 800-900 odd students
