Awesome team!!
Congrats to all those who were selected!
You guys are a privileged lot, to be a part of the PG DT legacy.
However, I'd like to mention a few caveats here, so that all the attention and appreciation you are getting here doesn't affect you in a negative way later.
First of all, I reiterate what the_hate said. Do not let this get to your head. Do not buy in to the hype surrounding IIMs. Do not set your targets in stone, and do not let short term targets overshadow you long term goals. Life is random. You should adjust to what is thrown your way. Things have a way of working out in the end.
CAT, the selection criteria and the interview process are far from being perfect, or even fair. But then, life is not fair. You have to live with what you get.
The whole ABC/CAB/BCA/BAC/ACB/CBA debate will go on for all eternity. It is a debate which can never be won or lost or come to any sort of logical conclusion. It just wastes everyone's time and energy. Don't be bothered by it and don't waste your time thinking about it, atleast not now. The time for that will come later, when you actually have to make a choice. If you attach too much importance to any one b-school so early, chances are that you may hurt your chances by getting too nervous in that interview.
Anyways, IIM isn't the end all and be all of life. It is just a step on your journey. Your goals should be long term. Try to figure yourself out, try to figure life out. Life is so much bigger than exams or results or money.
Think about it. ABCL XL FMS...whatever, it really doesn't matter. Life is what matters. There are so many roads to happiness, and to success, if you measure happiness by success. It doesn't matter which one you take, or if there are a few detours on the way. What matters is that you get there in the end.
I'm sure you'll all be happy and content in your lives irrespective of what happens in CAT. So. don't take too much tension. Think about what is important to you and do your best to achieve it. If it happens, great! If it doesn't, think of an alternative path to you goals and keep trying. But don't get stuck, and don't give up.
As for cracking CAT, it is really simple. Make a reasonable schedule for prep. Continue giving mocks. Improve with every single mock. It doesn't matter if you were AIR 1. It is just a mock, and there is always something that you could do better next time. Most importantly, don't pin all your hopes and dreams on this single exam. Give the exam in a relaxed state of mind. And if luck is on your side, the results will be what you hoped for. If luck is not on your side, don't be bitter, don't be angry, don't give up.
Life is what matters anyway, not CAT.
So enjoy life.
And all the best. You'll do fine.
PS: Sorry if I bored you with all this random gyaan/utter nonsense. I just thought it might put things in the proper perspective. My apologies if you felt that it was just a big waste of time.
