I am posting here to extend my Best Wishes to the incoming batch and to reduce the anxiety of the Waitlisters by posting some facts about last years WL movement:

Waitlist Movement for PGDIM:
CAT 2008: General: 134 in the main list + 173 in WList (total 5 Wl release)
CAT 2009: General: 139 in the main list + 118 in WList (total 4-5 Wl release)

CAT 2008: OBC: 41 in main list + 38+ names in the wait list (total 4 Wl release)
CAT 2008: OBC: 72 in the main list + 100 names in Wl (total 4-5 WL release)

CAT 2008: SC: 36 in the main list + 38 names in the wait list (total 4 WL release)
CAT 2009: SC: 42 in the main list + approx 35 in WList (need to confirm this )

Regarding PGDITM n PGDISEM courses, i have 2008 data which I am posting below.

PGDITM 2008:

Total Waitlisting Clear: 19

We can not reveal our identity as it may turn out to be impossible for us to live in campus.

We are telling you not because of any personal grudges but just to intimate the facts. Just ask any of your seniors who are here and not in any committee. Even your dear "Varun" sir is in the Impact committee which takes take of promoting good things for the batch.

And as we already mentioned earlier, these committee members always do get preference over the others in the placements. So take a suttle and informed decision.

Another Night Out at NITIE. This is surely becoming a habit These days Committee's selection are on high. Round 1, Round 2 are done. Waiting for Next Round..Nice to see most of the batch enjoying maggi, coffee at 4 am. NITIE never sleeps College days are back.Back with a bang!!!

Every day in NITIE is quite a story!!! Met Rashmi Bansal on 2nd July, in fact volunteered the event along few other future managers . The entire event was a good learning curve. NITIE campus has sold more number of books than entire Infosys campus this is the compliment we got from her.:):). ooh boy!!! We have marketing skills too ..Isnt

In my stint as a Software Engineer, I felt proud to be aware of almost all fancy tools we have in market.. Here I came to know about KNOL..this is a google product.. I didnt know about it :-(. Infact most of us didnt had much clue.. poor chaps all.. tons of things to learn about.. NITIE is a complete package.. have seen quite a few guitarist here.. lots of football players n supporters.. quite a few Fin masters.. Competition is tough but everone is unique !!!

How different are 2 Govt College's..My Engg and MBA one... In first one, no construction work done for years and in latter, work continues round the clock (even in nights :-().. Former One, lectures were boring.. Latter one, Lectures are necessity... Former one has GH kms away..Latter is just a min walk

Be optimistic. I think candidates till wl 120 should be in. In the worst case scenario keep a plan B ready. I would still like to stick by 30-35 candidates more in the 2nd WL movement. All the best abhinav...

After looking at the WL_tracker and founding so many red lines (sign of acceptance) across it, one bound to be confused and pessimist. Remember, normally only the interested and waitlisted ppl visit thread and tacker regularly. Those which have converted other better calls would be rather less interested in updating their status.
Keeping all factors in mind, I think this time WL movement would be close to 40-45 (provided IIM k and I ppl withdrawl considered).

PS: All are my personal opinions.
