JBIMS at 99.60?


I might sound stupid at night 2 o clock... but is it possible?

Let me start with the analysis of scores:

Scores are very very close..

1. Cutoff for JBIMS
Last year cutoffs for JB was 169 marks..
this year paper was tough so cutoffs will fall.. it will be around 160 - 162 for sure..
Average GDPI score say 30.. so 160 - 30 = 130 !!
This is the safe zone.. ie people with 130 plus marks or 99.84 have very high probability of JBIMS..

but there will be some nuts who score 34/34 + 6/6 par = 40/40

this means 162 - 40 = 122 wala can also get thro JBIMS!! ie 99.60!!
I know this is very less chance but 100% possible.. infact one of my student convert JBIMS with 99.61%ile.. she scored 40/40


2. Range analysis
This year scores are so close that you cant decide where cutoffs will end up... Average marks in GDPI is 24 - 28/34 ie 12 - 12 in GD & PI..
highest u can get is 17/17 (students do get that! - Last year 7 of my students got that score..)

24 average and 34 highest = gap of 10 marks..

This means everyone 10 marks above you and 10 marks below you are in your range..
Example: 136 marks and %ile 99.91 can be overtaken by 126 marks %ile 99.74!!
unfortunately one student with 99.92 screwed up in PI @ JBIMS. Got 7 marks in PI and got sydneham...

So keep a tab of people around you..

3. Normal chances score..
Talking about normality 125marks and 99.70 plus is a excellent chance for JBIMS... please remember.. Difference in salary of JBIMS and Sydneham is 4 lacs... I can kill someone for 4 lacs... you just have to study hard for next one month..
So everyone above 99.60 dont let your JBIMS dream die cuz someone said you cant get jbims below 99.96.. your job is to work hard... let god decide the final destination not your friends who are just demotivating you..

Summary:
Safe score: 130 plus
Good chance score: 125
Fighter score: 122

Marks 131.
%ile 99.86
Open Outside Home. I know last year it went at 50. Last year I had 99.58 %ile in written and 33 out of 34 in GD PI and 4/4 in PAR and 0 in WE. Merit rank was 94 and I did not get JB as it ended at 50 in 1st round. And narrowly missed in 4th round. But in 2010 it went at Merit Rank 93 and in 2009 at merit Rank 93 and in 2008 at Merit rank 92 or so in 1st round and 102 in 2nd round. By this years trends again it seems to close at state rank 50. Since there are many Outside Mumbai who have got high scores.

This year there are many toppers from OHU... 2 of my students have got 99.99...
Rank 1 is my student gaurv from pune with 158 marks

So competition is close... work hard for GDPI and keep ur fingers crossed..

but most of the students with 99.98 - 99.90 are from mumbai.. so you have good chance..

She attended all of my classes and workshops in vashi, thane and andheri... Used to leave workshop at night 9.30 and reach home by 11.30 in the night!!

And whoa.. it paid off!!
I was shocked to see that she got rank 11 and her percentile 99.98!!

Kudos to the girl!!
(She want her name to be withheld till she convert her dream college)

Lesson learnt:
Take your call.. MBA this year from any college... or dedication for next one year and crack it!!

You can get top 15 colleges like Vivekanand, Rizvi, Alkesh, Zadgu etc in MMS course in OMS seat but apply to PG courses of Welingkar, SIES, Dalmia, Indira as thats the best you can get thro CMAT and PG courses of SIES, Dalmia, MET, Chetna as backup. work hard for GDPI.. All the best & good luck
