M a fresher . ILP for me starts at Ambattur in Chennai from 11th August after which i would be posted in some office in Chennai only . I want to get transferred to Lucknow office later(after a year or so). Is there any provision like that ? And will they consider the request ? :lookround:

If you know a senior person in Lucknow, you can get yourself transferred out.
Even if you dont, you should try your best. During your ILP you can put in a request for transfer stating a proper reason.There is a very high probability of rejection,but there's no harm in trying.

Hi . I got my joining letter for TCS yesterday stating that i ll have the ILP at Chennai . But it says they wont provide the accommodation. Can someone let me know how much will they pay during the ILP considering that they r not giving us a place to stay ?

If your package happens to be 3.15 lpa, then you will get around 20k in hand (Given the components are still along those lines !! )

If your package is 3.16 you ll get around 17k .You wont get 20k for sure. I know people who are currently undergoing training at Chennai ilp.

Excessive exposure to sun may cause damage to the skin cells . This causes a dead skin build up which may lead to darkening of skin . Additionally there may be excess production of melanin which leads to further darkening (hyper pigmentation).

Understand that hyper pigmentation is a defensive mechanism . Melanin cells protect the skin from UV rays present in Sun Light . UV rays can damage skin cells in the short term (leading to dead skin build up which makes your skin look bad ) and in the long term leads to skin cancer .

To lighten a tan
1. Use lemon juice (which is a bleach) .It reverses hyper-pigmentation .Make sure to use a moisturizer soon after bleaching . Bleaching makes your skin very very dry .
2. To remove layers of dead skin cells use a body scrub .
3. Use a good sun block on exposed skin .

Beautiful skin is not determined by the color of your skin but by its texture .Beautiful skin like beautiful hair needs maintenance ,the more time you spend on it the better it will look .
Here is a simple skincare regimen you should follow for beautiful facial skin . Before you start with the procedure ,determine your skin type there are 3 types

1. Normal dry skin
2. Normal oily skin
3. Combination of both (dry around cheeks and oily around your T-Zone)

How do you determine your skin type ? use the paper test .

1. Wash your face
2. Pat it dry
3. Press a facial tissue/wipe on your cheek and T-Zone

General procedure for your skin care

Step 1:Cleansing
Avoid using bar soaps on your face. It drys your skin. Get yourself a cleanser (which is a fancy name for face wash).Your choice of cleanser should be determined by your skin type.Choose a creamy cleanser if you have dry skin or a clear cleanser if you have oily skin.It really makes a huge difference .

Step 2: Exfoliate
Exfoliateing the skin removes layers of dead skin cells and makes your skin look younger . You need to ex-foliate your skin once every week .You can either choose to use a facial scrub or a face pack (orange peel thingy).

Step 3: Moisturise
Unless you have acne you should be moisturising your skin .Even people with oily skin can do with a bit of moisturising .Check to see how dry and rough your skin is ,it ll tell you how much moisturising your skin requires .
You can apply moisturiser on your face and then wipe it off with facial tissues .It will leave a minimal amount on and wont make your face icky sticky.

Step 4: Sunscreen
This is by far the most important part of your care regime . UV rays really damage your skin .In countries like India where UV exposure can be extreme especially in the cities it is of vital importance that you use a sun block.It is the number one cause of wrinkles and ageing of your skin .
A good idea would be to buy a moisturiser with UV protection clubbing both step 3 and 4.

Can i do anything about darkened areas of my body especially joints like elbows ?

Yes .
Such darkened areas are commonly caused by

1. Dead skin build up
Solution : Ex foliate with a facial or body scrub

2. Hyper-Pigmentation
Solution : Lemon juice (bleach)

3. Shaving (underarm)
Solution : shaving does not completely remove hair , the sub surface hair that remains give your skin in that area a dark look .Go in for waxing or shave daily .

4. Discolorations due to perfumes
Solution : Visit a dermatologist

Also as censorboard chief Sharmila tagore has recently said that there is difference in application of laws on media in India as compare to Western Countries.
Indian public in overall is still not as mature & open like Western Countries.

There IS such a difference and maturity has nothing to do with that .Western culture is to a large extent shaped by the World wars and the counter culture revolutions of the 60s .
During the World wars conscription of very young men in the army was rampant. They were separated from their family and lived and fought in far away places this to a large extent shaped their lives . Prostitution,Drug abuse (life in the army) and the like became ok and this would later lead on to the revolution in the 60s . I would nt consider 'Western Culture' to be a guiding light or a role model that we should be following.
That said i do agree that India needs to mature and that will happen when real education peculates right up to the roots of our society .

A harmless statement of sharukh, backless photo of Kareena in Qurbaan, etc has caused riots in Mumbai. There issuesd a fatwa against India's most successful tennis woman because of wearing short skirts. Thus Indian public's sentiments are much fragile. there are riots/bundhs etc on even very small issues.

The government cannot encourage these forces by pandering to populist opinion.Do you think it would be right for the government to ban MTV or Valentine's day because some people feel its immoral ? .

This not just a case within India ,the swizz public voted to ban the construction of minarets in Switzerland .The french public want a ban on burqa .
It is a classic case of majority imposing their will on a minority .In India its the orthodox getting to impose their will on the minority liberals . Both have their rights to hold on to their opinions without having to impose it on the other.

Any good acne creams available in the market that you suggest? I stay in Kolkata which is rather humid.

Clearasil worked for me ,used it in my teen years .You might want to try their Acne products . For Cleansers and Toners i would recommend EverYuth .

PS: Careful with the face scrub .They contain small particles which could break pimples and leave subtle scars on your face .
