ParamountMBA,
Was going through this thread and found your evaluations very detailed and insightful. I am researching on my own and would continue to do so but would love to get your thoughts on a couple of questions which are still open to me.
Just to give you a perspective, my profile:
GMAT(first attempt last week): 770 (Q-50, V-45)/5.5
Work Ex: 5 yrs. 2 yrs in the financial industry in a techno-functional role, with one of the worlds leading investment banks. Have gradually moved into a leadership role and leading 2 teams right now including a virtual team , the first time our extended team in experimenting with this model.
Also cleared the CFA Level 1 in June. (I know it not exactly in like with my aspirations but had to start somewhere. FRM is next.)
Have decent international exposure with a year in Tokyo and a couple of months in the US.
Want to move into hardcore finance (read IBanking and analytics) in the short term and have a long term goal of moving into economic policy making and stuff like that.
Am targeting LBS, Booth, Columbia, INSEAD, ISB
And the answers I am still searching for:
1. Are the one yr MBAs in INSEAD, ISB, Cambridge, Judge good enough for the role switch I am looking for. Not exactly a industry switch but surely a role switch?
2. Any other schools I should add to my list where I have a decent chance of scholarship and where Finance is strong.
Any thoughts will be highly appreciated.
