hi guys.. i am a fresher and very happy to have been selected for IIM-I, couldn't have asked for more ! though i have some doubt. I am a management student specializing in HR.. can you please tell how are the placements and othe prospects at IIM-I for HR students? thank you

illtutmish some talked about placing the last 50 students or sumthings..thats the same everywhere...try and find out when summers are completed at these colleges.... ask people neutral guys...they will tell u the truth.....

average 250 at I is 15.9?? dats laughable ......i havent seen there placements report anywhere......any K's salary figures are inflated?? yes it does include foreign offers but the ones made at dubai werent high enough to inflate it by much....tax free u see plus home plus food whcih wasnt added in the ctc.....STANC historically has been coming to k....Microsoft comes to K.... Microsoft didnt extend any offer this year...

illtutmish stupid post and discussion going on......sorry i got dragged here.....:P but yes if guys wanna join I over K for sure they can do so..... the sole argument people have is some big names.... for those who haven't crossed the line well you can go ahead...converting a company and then the company walking out happens every year..TAS reccruited last year at I but walked out dis yr..siml'y png and stanc didnt extend offers dis year....A SOME OTHER TOO..... i cant defend my insti if companies decided to give my batch a miss :P:P

After seeing a year where people have remain unplaced i have lost my zeal to tell u to choose one over the other coz wat you are being fed is mere numbers that will never add up...believing 320 were placed after 3 days or 10 days is unbelievable stuff.....wen summers extends to 5-6 months....i have no authority to question anything or stop anyone........but we all have friends in every campus and we get to know the situation and which company is coming wen and how may they picked up....

One piece of advice .... if u are in the top 150 in any campus u are more than lucky....am not talking about ABC..rest included...if u believe u can stay dere...good...dont be over confident ...even the topper in finance of fms was unplaced...dere is a lot to be done in the next 2 years...lot to learn.... an attitude of getting a job will only take u dat far

A lot talked about placements and rightly so... go ahead and join I..if u wanna join K go ahead .... cos the myths will break once the line is crossed.... september 2013 will be the acid test and dudh ka dudh and paani ka paani :P:P yeh companies k naam jhooth lagenge sabko.... mark my words people.... u will be competing with the finest 450 people at I and 370 in case for K.......so best of luck people.....

One piece of advice weder you go to I or K........ FRUSTRATE MAT HONA if you are in for placements

To the others aish karo mba life...its worth it.... dunno how much freedom is given at other colleges but at K we are ...

Having talked to random people at internship and otherwise, for me K is one of the coolest B-school in india if not the coolest :)…in fact as far as the experience and the education goes, it is at par with the very best of this country… A senior wrote about Prof Matthew..(he teaches STI, mind u...STI stands for social transformation of india and u wonder how is it related to MBA...well ...sih) "Of course it is difficult to appreciate the impact that one prof can have, but then that is the case…we gain perspectives which no other IIM will be able to…translates into greater happiness and satisfaction, which placement figures etc cannot capture"

This sure does seem globe to a lot out there..so best of luck people...best of luck

I hope @ankitv2412 and @jayantrocks can stop commenting on this post any longer......guys try and help out if they have any probs relating to admissions... In terms of placements it is advisable they talk to 10-15 people, some neutral and get a perspective

torqtech @illtutmish Haha all in jest sir, all in jest!! I don't know why people compare colleges when you need to identify your own priorities first. When comparing I and K, first you need to estimate exactly what rank can you secure in so and so batch. Because if you are gonna top then compare top offers, if you are gonna flunk then start building contacts Anything else is useless because if you flunk in I you fail and you top in K you are a success. You top at I you get fabulous offers and flunk at K, you will be shunned. Point being that one college can be called above other only when all offers(majority at least) at that college are above the other one. Anyway I have no intention of joining the "gladiator ring".

while adding payee for the NEFT transaction....m not able to add the full a/c name which is supposed to be 'Indian Institute of Management Indore'...i guess there is a limit on size of a/c name...anybody else facing this issue? M using ICICI net banking.

@Germinator - i got two mails yesterday but the link mentioned over there for various forms directs to the Result page. The forms for degree completion, medical certificate etc. are not available. plz help as I have to get it signed by the concerned authorities
