i want to do mba specializing in finance and i am confused between MITSOM and IIMP. which one is better?

I suggest you puys to catch hold of few passed out fellas from the college and shoot your queries at them...they would be in a better position to "enlighten" you abt all that is related to the good bad and ugly of Indira !!!...i agree that most of them would rant abt the institute but there are a few who would also give it a thumbs up !!!
I passed out in 2012, currently working with the biggest media house in the country, the Times Group. Having said that, i can vouch for the fact that , you can write your own destiny, get urself placed in reputed organization post your PG...only if you strive to be the best. If you continue to be an average guy, doing average stuffs, giving average performances...then even IIMs wont be able to help you in getting ur expected pay packages...an institution is only as good as its students...and not vice versa

Hey how many days a week lectures are being conducted in Indira??

What are the timings of the college?

well.... d schedule which u wud get from the college boasts of lectures being conducted from 7.15 am in the morning till 2.30 pm for 5 dayz a week (though the timing may vary on few days...but better be prepared to be called early in d mornings)
ur main work will start after the college hours....for the initial few dayz u might be a little free (for doing ur vellapanthies ;)) but as the syllabus proceeds u wud be loaded wid presentations, gds, case studies and wat not
apart from the weekdays...the extra sessions which we call as CLDP sessions are conducted on weekends (depending upon the availability of the speakers)...so be prepared to slog on weekends as well
no matter in whicheva college u r....coming 2 years are gonna be gruesome and entertaining at the same time ....try and make the most out of it

Seniors! any idea about Indira global business school(IGBS) at parandwadi ?? Is it good in terms of faculty and placements ?? i guess the placements are centralised with wakad campus... ? pls share your views...

IGBS has just got approval to commence the AICTE approved and pune university affiliated MBA course. Earlier it only had PGDM course running !!
well as far as the placements are considered ...as u said ....they are centralized.....though m not so sure abt the faculties ....but i can tell u dat the previous deputy director of IIMP, Mr. Shriram Nerlekar has been deputed as the Director of IGBS campus just a couple of weeks back :p
so whateva had been the conditions at IGBS previously, its surely gonna change for good in the coming days....coz Nerlekar Sir is an extremely dynamic personality and has been responsible for changing the face of IIMP

Completed my admission procedure in IIMP today... took about 1.5 hours but easy enough...

The facts:

DD is for 149,270 only

Hostel facility is pretty darn good

Thorough procedure

The documents needed are(originals plus one attested copy):

10th/12th/graduation marksheets
Proforma I
GAP certificate
Allotment letter
Migration/leaving/transfer certificate
Passport/domicile/nationality certificate
CET original score card (whenever you get it, do hand it over to them and get a receipt of it)
Passport size pic
Rs 1250 for prospectus and application form

For those still stuck on placements, I saw the placement charts today... For finance specialization, minimum salary was 2.75-3.5L, most of them were in 4-4.5L range and the highest touched 5.75-6.5L range for the current batch. Pretty impressive I would say, will update more on the profiles offered tomorrow since I didn't have enough time to chat with seniors... :(

Bottomline like I have mentioned in a couple of other threads, if you do well and crack interviews, nothing can stop you from being placed in a good position...


I don't really intend to promote IIMP, but before people dismiss it, do go and visit the campus and spend some time over there... it genuinely grows on you...:p
