What r the various possible ways to njoi after classes..

There are loads of things that can be done after classes. Some people play sports like cricket, volleyball, football, basketball, pool, etc. Some go for swimming. Some hit the gym. Many people you'll always find in the library or the reading room. Some people go out to the 24/7 naaka behind our college for tea and snacks.
Then there is Hotel Sadanand where you can have dinner etc if you are in a mood to splurge. For limited budget parties there are some more places nearby. But mostly everyone prefers to have food in the mess itself as it is good enough. Many of the students can be seen strolling around the campus in the evening. Some go out for ice cream or pan after dinner. These are the things that we do on days when we don't have much work.
When we have assignments and presentations you'll find study groups all over the campus sitting n completing some assignment or making a presentation on their laptops. Many people can also be found in the syndicate rooms studying there.
There are a zillion things that people can do after classes... These are the ones that I can recall as of now.

Anytime dude.... Even I wanted to see this thread but it wasn't possible last year. Good to see it come to life.

As you must have seen from what I write about the college, it has been a really nice year for me. I guess you know about my experience already... I have also sent a mail to all the people in our batch. Hopefully you'll get to read about their experience soon.

By the way, ask clear cut questions about specific things.... like about cultural activities, committees, seminars, events, etc. Otherwise you'll get very vague replies.
For example, if you ask how was your experience then everyone's gonna reply it was good, nice, etc. So try to be specific. Then even I will be able to answer more clearly. I hope you get my point.

zat here has covered pretty much everything that we can "officially" do
blv me folks, thr is a whole host of underground activities that can be done too. most of them r nt to be mentioned here.
bt rest assured, u wont find urself bored in ths place
fr weekends, u cn go and watch movies nearby at a place E-Square. then thr r many good places to eat arnd in pune like sukanta, chaitanya etc.
if u hv a bike, thr is nthng bettr than that as pune is a really beautiful place. explore as much as u want

then we will b taking u guys out fr "pune darshan" and then a trekking trip to nearby Singhad Fort in the frst month...
othr things to do at NIA will be coverd in the subsequent posts...

Earlier on the class timings were from 10am to 3.30pm.
Class I: 10am - 11.30am
Class II: 11.45am - 1.15pm
Class III: 2pm - 3.30pm

But now we are hearing that they might change the timings to 8.30am-1.30pm. Lets see.

Thanks a lot dude for this thread.Really this thread was needed bigtime & I am so happy that you created it.I am joining NIA for sure,loan ke liye bhi apply kar de,I hope it will get sanctioned soon:) Dying to reach Pune & meet the seniots specially you.:cheerio:The seniors have been very helpful,specially you.When some problems were going on the old thread,you were the person to handle it smoothly,really dude take a bow.:grin:

1)How many days will be off in a week???
2)Latest till when can we enter the hostel,at night???;)
3)How strict is the college???(specially about attendance)
4)Hostel sabkuch allowed hain???:drinking::drinking:(I hope you understand what I mean):p

Anytime yaar even I wanted to see this thread on PG for a long long time. You should thank Muddlehead for the idea.

1)How many days will be off in a week???

Sunday will be your only off. On Saturdays, you'll have some workshop or career related lectures and stuff. But later on you may get some Saturdays off. :cheerio:
And sometimes when it gets real hectic or if you have a lot of course to cover, you might even have to attend lectures on Sundays.

2)Latest till when can we enter the hostel,at night???;)

11pm. And you can't exit after 10.30pm.

3)How strict is the college???(specially about attendance)

They are pretty strict about attendance. At least 75% attendance is mandatory. If you have less than 75% attendance in some subject, they drop your grade by one level. Like if you are getting B+ then they will drop it to B which is equivalent to a drop of 10% marks.
4)Hostel sabkuch allowed hain???:drinking::drinking:(I hope you understand what I mean):p

Nothing is allowed as per the rules. I can't tell you much apart from this as some people from the management also check our PG threads. But I guess you got my point. Samajhdaar ko ishara hi kaafi hai.

yes ..nearby u wont find ne shops..bt drez a place baner vry near..wherein u cud find some....NIA ki bus hoti h yar....buy uski tickets..vry cheap fare... u can always commute by dat..oderwise tam tam(6 seater auto) is nxt best option..den if u hv bike.. nthin like it....dont worry about dis .....

Hey seniors one question that I want to ask you guys, I am from Pune itself and mostly would be cmng hoime during the offs. So how does it work ya. Can I leave on Saturday eve itself and back on Monday or are there any timelines even for this.
