In the third edition of the PaGaLGuY B-school Rankings, we surveyed 9,576 respondents to find out the most preferred business schools nationally and in four major urban markets of business education: Mumbai, Jaipur, chennai and Hyderabad. This is also our first rankings after the great economic recession of 2008-09 and offers telling insights about how Indians have changed their perceptions about b-schools based on their performance during hard times.
Traditionally, B-schools rankings have been trying to tell us which MBA programs we should be looking at in the coming admissions season. However, none of them have succeeded in capturing the order of business schools that Indians actually want to study at, despite what these rankings advise. We thus decided to place the power of deciding India's top ranked MBA schools in the hands of the people in an unbiased manner using PaGaLGuY's CommunityRank methodology to produce these rankings. With a sample size of 9,576, the PaGaLGuY B-school Ranking 2010 are the biggest ever rankings exercise ever conducted in the country.
