    CAT 2012 notification out
by Lajwanti D'Souza in CAT 2012 notification on 22 July '12

The Common Admission Test (CAT) 2012 notification for admission to the 13 Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) is out. Much of what is tabled is what we already told you in our previous articles dated July 18 and July 20 . More information is available on the CAT website or in today's national dailies which contain the notification.

    The salient features include:

*A CAT candidate can appear for the exam only once during the 21-day testing window which is October 11, 2012 to November 6, 2012

*The CAT 2012 video will be available on www.catiim.in from July 28, 2012 onwards.

*Separate advertisements will be published for the Fellowship programme of each institute.

*The shortlisting of candidates for the second stage of selection may be independent of each other. The processes, academic cut-offs and the weights allocated to evaluation parameters may vary across IIMs.

*Mere fulfillment of minimum eligibility criteria will not ensure consideration for shortlisting by the IIMs.

*The voucher has to be bought in the name of the candidate as it appears in the school leaving certificate.

    • sushil2000 @krishna581 There is a possibility that IIT's are going to either consider GMAT score for their next session or start with a new entrance for MBA. There has been a lot of changes in their admission procedure.

    • karan561989 CAt 2011 , what happened was, the students who gave late , they got good percentiles, as they had more information about what was asked in the earlier slots , and they also came to know about the difficulty level. So , guys my take is 2-6 november is the best . ATB.

    • Phoenix2687 @kpraveen010 Last time they gave an 8 page booklet for rough work. They do not provide you with eraser but the pencil they provide have attached eraser :) However you wouldn't feel the need of using it.

    • themaster ISC/ICSE students, what criteria are you following while evaluating your class 10th n 12th percentages? aggregate or best 5 and best 4 respectively?
      #65 • 06 Aug '12 Like
    • losetowin @themaster Count all the subjects. CAT Council has explicitly mentioned in the registration guide to count all the subjects mentioned on the marksheet irrespective of boards. I did the same. Best of Luck.... :)

    • losetowin @themaster Yeah. Last year I had entered the percentage as per ICSE norms but this year its clearly mentioned in the registration guide to count all the subjects. Why take any chance!!!

    • AforAdam @sunny1987 While filling up cat form it has been clearly mentioned that you cannot consider best 5 or 4 or something like that.. What i was speaking about is that for the admission process of IMM kozhikode when if you get a call in the first shortlist, you are required to enter your board marks again for second round, people have in the past entered best 5 scores and supported it with a documnet from the concerned school(please note the I.C.S.E board neither provides a percentage nor the norms for calculating it)....however since people are saying ths year it has been clearly mentioned..then i donot think it can be done this year... :(
