There's more than enough content on this forum to stimulate left-brain (analytical) activity, but not enough to provide the right (creative) side of the brain much of an exercise. So starting this thread to give ourselves a mental workout in an unusual manner.
It's called Onamography coined as a conjunction of the Greek words onuma ('name') and graphe ('writing').
There's a celebrity name hidden in this rather awkward looking sentence (it's called an 'onnicle').
Onnicle 1: From America to Africa, am I really going places? Ok, hand me my passport.
OnniClue: Known as the best marketing brain in Bollywood
Answer: Aamir Khan --> From America to Africa, am I really going places? Ok, hand me my passport.
When you solve an onnicle, don't just stop there. Keep the thread going by creating another 'onnicle' with some other personality's name in it.
Any Puys up for the challenge?

Solving and creating onnicles requires a combination of creativity, pattern recognition skills, wit, language skills and general knowledge. Look at it as the surya-namaskar (apologies to the yoga-phobic puys) for your grey cells.

If you believe in the higher cause behind this concept, show your support by becoming a fan on Facebook.

Sudoku has over 53,000 fans. Onamography has not even crossed 4-digits.
We have a long way to go out there. So if you can invite your friends on Facebook to become fans, even better.

If any of the budding business minds here have some ideas, drop me a PM.

Who knows, your MBA journey might get a creative boost too 😃
From America to Africa, am I really going places? Ok, hand me my passport.

Answer for the above one:

Who is the Alpha? Am I really able to manage such a task handily?
But then people will keep creating the same name all the time... So here're Beta & Gamma amongst the Alpha, Beta & Gamma of the three persons of subnormal intelligence who took the country by storm earlier this year.
Being a fool does harm anyone. A village named Jos hit up a good idea in Nigeria to avoid it.

Are you Mad? Havana cigars are illegal in the USA!

And I suggest we solve the onnicles instead of creating new ones. You can also keep adding new ones now and then.

Regards,
Grondmaster

While we are on the topic of 3 greek alphabets, why not bring in others who gave them the directions and money to go to the nearest BO?

I don't know what happened. He was looking for a jug, when suddenly phi ran into omega.
"Ivanov, I'd hurl it at you next time!" Knowing he means the TV, I nod and look at the watch Oprah had given me.

Couldn't get the second one...still learning

You guys rock!

I was sure this forum will have enough twisted minds to embrace the concept. Grondmaster, Pratyush, Abhi1max1 - thanks for keeping the flickering flame alive.

Why flickering? Let me paste the original post that gives a little more background on the concept and it's relevance.

We've got Indians who've made a mark in almost every sphere - performing arts, music, sports, media, business.

But can you think of a single Indian name that's made a splash in the creative field of puzzles?

Here's a unique concept that is hoping to change that scenario. It has made an international debut in Australia.

It's called Onamography. Here's the Facebook link.

However, it's not easy competing with the international players all alone. If you see potential in the concept and think it can continue to do well on an international stage, show your support by becoming a fan on Facebook.

Also, if you are in the mood for some creative muscle flexing, check out discussion thread.

Any innovative ideas on how to make this concept grow?

Mods: Is this topic important enough to deserve a separate independent thread?

Onamography made a dhinchak debut in the Herald Sun (Australia's best selling daily) during Christmas time. But like most original concepts that get beaten black-n-blue by the regular heavy-weights (Crosswords, Sudoku etc), the future of this unusual Indian export is uncertain in a domain dominated by Japanese and American juggernauts.

You guys give me hope.

Ok, enuff senti stuff. Don't want to hold up the party. DJ...music please.

Need more clues!
And I think a split name ("cheese and tango") makes it difficult to catch, so let's wait until we learn to do this well and then try that.

@MartianOnEarth (Sesame eraser, is it?)
A thanks to you for introducing this! I'm sure there are many more people on this forum that can make this thread a success. It just needs more visibility.
Oh, and in your exuberance, don't you think you forgot to post a new onnicle? :P

Here's one from my end. This person worked with our Alpha on something ridiculously named Style Our Our!

Surprisingly, universal manifestations of pink walk hand in hand with the colour violet.

I agree. What we've been doing so far is the Simple variety. What you've posted would fall in the Tricky category. Let's stick to the easier ones till more people get the hang of this.

Can't repeat the same errors again, can I? ;-)

Thanks, Pratyush. Tumhare mooh mein ghee shakkar. Judging by the way it's been going so far on this thread, I'm feeling optimistic already.

Guilty as charged, Pratyush (thought nobody's going to catch that part). Here's one from my side.

I'm fairly sure reptiles don't hiss or huss. Ain't it funny how we tend to verbalise everything?

Sadly, India's loss is Qatar's gain.

You keep posting too! Making onnicles is just as fun, if not more!

Alice consulted the Mad H. Urine analysis showed the appendix items were missing.

He won't find her in Qatar, because she's not going there! Nono! Nene!

Heres one. Not sticking to the Bollywood theme. Slightly tough.

I have to admit I used Wikipedia to get his first name. :sheepish:

Here's someone from the same page. Known for speaking truth of the discomforting kind.

Marital bliss makes us forgo reality pretty soon.

Wow, that was good! I'm going to let other folks here have a crack at it too. So here's the same one put differently:

Curb AC hiring as our new sponge may eliminate that!

And another one:

Poking his mid-rib, Natwar said to the acrobat, "Tu tara banega, dost!"

He was known to the historians as a very famous Arabic explorer, but Circuit made him known to the other sects. (Yes, as much as I despise Bollywood, I have to bring this into the clue)
