@burnett Check this !!
As the viewers eyes will go straight away at that circle,so u can give a title to the pic making that circle as the subject. eg. "Alone", "Circled"...etc
Did some color correction, cropping, added some noise etc.
Tell me if its working, what i just said !!

@burnett Well high ISO is not always an unwanted thing !! What i have observed is that sometime monochrome pics looks better with some noise. But then its completely my opinion.
Perspective differs with different people

well..I have a doubt now ! with high ISO, the pic already has lot of noise..right? how come you added more noise..and still the pic looks better !
jayaswalrahul
Rahul Jayaswal @jayaswalrahul 549
@burnett I guess, even the high ISO wud work here :P:P. Some extra noise is adding to the pic
Used Lightroom !!

@burnett

what say puys ?

this is good moment, but the angle is not right. Avoid distraction likes pips just behind the main subject. I feel the guy with a cam is also getting unnecessary attention. avoid that

You make thsi photo better by clicking it against the sun light! the composition you have used is not new. I used to click flowers a lot in my early days but soon realized it is the most clicked subject. try something new with it or try another subject to add variety

@burnett bhai seriously seeing so god ppl here in infy, i really dont consider myself more than an amateur. Everyday i learn new things from them. You wil learn all those in course of time too!!!
My advice as of now is to play with ur kit lens, experiment things, follow any gud photography forum on fb, try to figure out your love( love means what genre u are loving :P) Then slowly try hand with different lenses.

Rahul Jayaswal @jayaswalrahul 549
m still with an prosumer camera only, but have used both cropped and full frame censor bodies.
Still figuring out what genre of photograaphy suits me most
Bcos see photography is an expensive hobby and u shud know what interests u the most i.e landscape, portrait, macro etc. and accordingly u have to buy lenses or unless u are a rich person
I'll tell you ppl here in Infy are godly in terms of photography. Have learnt a lot from them
One always doesn't need a DSLR for a good click

@burnett Am still an amateur, but would suggest you the following points :
1.) The subject is not in focus properly
2.) Lots of distractions (poles, the man in the background etc.)
3.) The photo should be portrayed in such a way that a story is formed straight away in the mind of the viewer after seeing the pic.

(Here am not able to relate any story with the subject)

4.) Always try to give captions with the pic. (It helps viewer to understand the pic better)

Hope it helps !! :thumbsup:

@harshmendiratta any lens with wide aperture ( like 1.8 ) allows more light to enter the camera, result is you can shoot in low light as well. I have seen people clicking milky way using 50 mm 1.8 lens. Besides that, prime lenses have added advantage of giving sharp crispy images with very good contrast.

About landscape photography , wide angle lens ( < 18 mm ) is best choice though.

just one question Canon 50mm F1.8 is a large aperature.....wont the high aperture be problems for landscapes?
Gryphon
Antriksh Kumar @Gryphon 87
for modestly wide range, Canon 50mm F1.8 is good or even 35mm 1.8. these are the most versatile focal lengths.

for landscape, u require a wide angle lens.
If you are new to photography, 18mm position of ur kit lens is enough. If moving upwards, Canon 20mm F2.8 or Sigma 8-16mm F4.5-5.6 are good choices.
Wide lenses are a bit on the costly side.

@kia

please suggest between

Nikon D310

and

canon 550D or suggest something good in this budget

@drkunjan and @Abhilash09

Go for canon 550d and buy 55-250 lens along with it. That will serve almost all your purposes...
