i wud like to elaborate on the incident agent smith talk abt indirectly in his blog today.
first of all i am not a student there i have heard this account from a friend and frankly i am apalled by it .
Yesterday due to some reasons the "XLite" 2nd year decided to harass there juniors ..they were called to a meet where they were abused and threatened ..including the girls ...
some of the seniors were heavily drunk and were using language not even fit enuf for truck drivers ...even the 2nd year girls were drunk and abusing there 1st year counterpart ...(some culture there ..eh)
to top this all later in the night arpund 2:00 am all the first years were made to assemble in a park and subjected to a repeat performance..
i have been told that the boys barged into girls hostel and threatened them if they dont open the door they will break it ...
to take it even further the 1st year girls were sexually threatened by their 2nd year seniors ....
wot i ask is are these the management students of a premier management insitute ?...or some useless worthless student in some obscure college ...
is this wot the "XLite" keep crowing about .?.the kind of values they have and their sense of morality ...
i say they are merely a bunch of hooligans who are not worth anything in life ...if this is wot they have learnt after 1 year of management education then i am afraid XLRI shud never be counted as a gud management instiute (why management ..they r not gud to be counted anywhere)
in my personal opinion the rep of XL has gone done several notches today..
their sac gsecy was a mute bystander to this entire episode ....some spineless guy
i dont think this batch of XLite will amount to anything in life .....

well, i have heard of similiar incidents happening in colleges... but whatever has been narrated is thoda jyada... untill some XL student confirms it, i'm not going to believe this intoto...
& by the way "imgonnacrackthistime" ... what do u mean by "this cud make any UP college speechless".... do u mean to say such things generally happen in UP & they don't happen anywhere else in country or UP is the worst of all... please refrain from giving such biased comments ...
I have not posted this incident out of some personal grudge against XLRI.
the reason was i was really disturbed when i heard this account i got from a very gud frn there in XLRI who had to face this in person ...
it is not at all exaggerated ...check agent smith's today's blog ...if u can read between the lines...u will gt a idea that wot i havent posted is not false or exaggerated in any way ..
another reason was to bring out the hypocrisy hidden behind these high moral values and ethics claiming "XLite" ..
Looks like the only thing they "excel" in hooliganism and boorishness ....
and ofcourse in lack of ethics and decency ..
well things get elaborated in hear say issues ... so before pointing fingers .... Xlrites , is this true and to what extent is this true ???
PS : no need to bring any state wise issues like UP , Bihar , for a matter of fact this kind of ragging goes on in every state ... have seen it before and would not like it to be brought up so cheesily ...
donot know if this is really true, but if it is, then itz really bad..

Hold your horses,folks.It should be condemned,no doubt.But let's have some of our XL folks frm PG confirm if it took place.
Firstly, XL students wud be on the horns of a dilemma whether to post. Say if they are first years, they may face others wrath for washing dirty linen in public. 2nd year PGite XL students may be appalled to post abt other batchmatches. (All this assuming the incidents took place).
Lets hope this incident had NEVER TAKEN place as reported. If it was TRUE, I appreciate the whistle blowers guts for having blown the lid off for what his/her friend was subjected to.

I go with mynamesake Gautam in believing this all has been a highly exagerated issue.
Its quality students who go into a premium insti like XLRI.
Wev had stuff happening at IIFT but its probably something im enjoying more than the studies.
The seniors have already started interacting as they come back from their summers. Okay we are supposed to wear formals till thre at night, but thats waht ppl at ERNST and YOUNG are doin next door in their corporate office and were told its the demand of our faculty.
XL and ppl from there command great respect and even if a diluted version of some such personal nonsense has taken place I guess it shall be all taken care of pretty soon.
We have Fr. Yesurajan taking our classes for couple of subjects and we are told he does so at only XL,IIMA and IIFT. People here call him an institution in himself and he commands this image for brand XL as well.
Hope things are put in place and I wud much rather prefer to read a XLites version of the event. A version not a clarification I hope.

I dont agree with the strong words of Agent Smith. But he is in a spot of bother because, the chap who wrote this quoted his name which is bad and cud get Agent Smith into trouble. It places Agent Smith in a compromising position where he has to fight for his institute/seniors where he is going to be for 2 more years. In this position, it will be hard for him if his loyalties are with "fact reporting" rather than with his institute/seniors.

i am a first year student at XLRI. First things first, there has been no such incident as told by SHIVHARE. I fully agree with the statements of gautam and absolutely agent.
I would like to request that anybody should verify the information which maligns any institute.
XLRI is the oldest MBA institue in the country and has its own culture and traditions. People not part of it aren't aware of the same and hence this rumour.
Kindly stop putting such rumours on a public forum like PG.
Anyone having any doubts regarding this incident can PM me.

You may not give a damn about what I think. But I did value what you thought. Guess that needs to change. You didn't verify the issue, didn't clarify the event - simply went on a spiel. A personal rampage - one that makes you look so small.
May be a tabloid story, but when I did ask for a clarification , where was it ? You can get all the seniors , hell get the profs too .. whats to change ??
He did hint at your blog, but was this response warranted ? Couldn't you say it was unrelated ? NO! Ofcourse NO! You had to 'protect' your seniors.. and go crawling to them.

In all the 18 years i've spent in Jamshepur before joining college here , Xl has always been "looked up to " . Needless to say such incidents are unheard of .. this is simply incredible !!! I am not trying to say nothing of the aforementioned is true , but then lots of it sounds a lil too exagerated for comfort !! it simply does not sound like XL .
