Any Tuck applicants/alumni/students around here?

I applied R1 but then later realized that I had not scheduled an interview (which was recommended). It was my first application and thought that interviews would only be in USA. So i wrote in the application that i will be unable to travel to US for interview.
Later i realized they hold interviews across the world as well.. :satisfie:

Anyway, made a mistake, but hopefully they will pardon me for my stupidity! 😃

I do not agree with you. Tuck's interview instructions state that:

Applicant-Initiated Interviews

Tuck offers all applicants the opportunity to interview on campus in Hanover. Interviews are scheduled online on a first-come, first-served basis and must be completed by the deadline for the round in which you are applying. Please note that all applicant-initiated interviews are conducted on campus only. To schedule an interview, visit the
Visit Us/Interview page of our website.

Committee-Initiated Interviews
If you have not scheduled an on-campus interview by the deadline, the admissions committee may invite you to interview. Invitations to interview are given only after an initial review of a candidate's application. Because we cannot invite all applicants to interview, we urge you to take advantage of the applicant-initiated on-campus interview. Committee-initiated interviews will be conducted on-campus, off-campus or by telephone.

On-campus interviews are conducted by admissions committee members and admissions associates (selected second-year students). Off-campus interviews are conducted by admissions committee members, admissions associates, or alumni interviewers. All interviews are evaluated equally, regardless of interviewer, location, or how initiated.

--------------------------------------------------------------
So, if this information is not wrong, they might invite you for an off-campus or telephonic interview after doing an initial evaluation.

Ohh thats right!!!!!

U just made me feel much better! thanks a ton. i thought i had read it correctly while filling the application, but this another friend of mine confused me.

thanks for clarifying! 😃

Good to see a thread on Tuck 07...
I got interviewed at Hanover this september...believe me it was a great experience..
I have posted my interview exp somewhere on PG...I guess I made a separate thread for interviews+campus visits..

Dev

Hi Dev,
It would be a good idea if you could post your interview experience with the couple of questions being asked. It would certainly helped a lot to us guys who have not being able to schedule interviews even though we applied in the first round.

Hi all count me in this thread, i also applied for R1. It would also be a good idea if we can share our profiles as well.

Not sure how to answer that....

This is my opinion......

If you were from a place like Tanzania or say Saudi Arabia..in other words from a country that isnt over represented ur GMAT would have been good to go...But unfortunately Indian students have raised the bar pretty high.....So if your are in ur early 20's and wanna increase ur probabilty of getting thru a highly selective school like Tuck then retake ur GMAT....U can always inform the adcom that u ve retaken ur GMAT and have done well.....

I am not sure what ur GPA is.....If u r from a well known institute and have done well in college then u might be able to offset ur low gmat score.....but u need to have stellar acads.....

Those were my 2 cents but give it a shot....u ve nothing to lose.....
All the best

Hi dev,
It was nice to download interview info, infact i have applied to Darden also. Since i am in India so was not possible to travel to these places for interviews.

It was nice to see someone who has worked for oil majors albeit in different fuction. Infact i have worked on Tanker ships transporting oil from one terminal to another and now want to use my experience and switchover to work for the supply chain management function of these companies.

Not sure how to answer that....

thanks .. i understand where you are coming from about the country representative ... even in inidia the major applications are from IT sector ... in this regard i think my application would be different ... the problem arises like is said is gmat ... i have given a reatke and did not do too well in the second one .... that has got me thinking about the schools...

I think i will go ahead and apply ....

Thanks man

Hi Guys,

I am Manish, R1 applicant 2007. Had a call for phone interview last week. Wasnt a very probing one. But then thats the way its done I guess.Anybody taking the interview would have a good feeling abt it.

I am curious to know if its phone interviews that Tuck always does or have they invited anybody for personal interviews too.

Meanwhile all the best for all applicants.Hope we all cross roads very soon.

Hi Manish,
I have also applied to Tuck in R1. But didn't get any phone call from them. Does that mean that they have discarded my application? Could u please give us a glimpse of your profile? ( e.g. GMAT Score, Years of Experience, Industry etc.)

thanks,
Soul

Hi Soul,

It early to conclude anything. I just had the interview last week and they had given options to take it this week too. I had submitted the application a bit early too.

And abt my profile....I have abt 5 years of experience with TCS with GMAT score above 700.

What other apps have you submitted Soul?

Hope you hear from Tuck very soon.

Regards
Manish

thanks for ur prompt reply Manish,
it's a strange consequence that I am also working in TCS and have a score of 710. My experience is 1 yr less than urs though.

Tuck was the only school where I have applied in R1. ISB,Duke and Michi are on my plan.
Let me see. Are u in India right now?

I submitted my application just 1 hr earlier than the scheduled deadline. But they have written me a mail conveying that my application will be considered for R1. Don't know if they are interested in my profile or already have thrown it in wastepaper basket.:)

India+ IT is a over-represented group. Anyway, no points in discussing these cliches. Let me keep my fingers crossed.

Wish u all the best.

Regards,
Soul

Hi,
I am an TCSer too. My GMAT Score is 690. has 7+ years experience.
I am planning to apply to Tuck for R2.

Do they insist on TOEFL?

Meanwhile Manish..,Do you mind sharing your GMAT Score?
