Princeton Review (Bangalore) "the worst GMAT coaching"

Why did I like: I don't know may be the brand.
Why didn't I like:
1) Limited classes 5 quant and 7 verbal + 1 AWA. Quant was too fast for me, Verbal was just ok.
2) Limited meterial. Main source being OG only. I would definitely not consider OG alone sufficient.
3) No new tips or tricks taught...I would expect atleast some in depth analysis of concepts.

I am extremely grateful to the Princeton Review ...

It seems suddenly people woke up to the greatness of TPR after reading a negative review !
All these people are first time posters, I wonder how many actually have been TPR students !

Agreed! That certainly seemed strange. All 3 posters were from Delhi too and the OP was talking about Bangalore.

Deleted.

Good to see some activity in my thread. And Thanks Neo2000 for quick action :)

Yes I am talking about Princeton Review Bangalore. Given the materials I don't see how Princeton Review else where should be different.

I was fortunate to get materials from my friend studying in an other coaching centre else I was sure to doom.

Hello All,
Somebody can tell me where to join a GMAT class:

1 - Education asile ( 20k , 48 h class, no hardcopy material)
2 - Princeton (manya group) (25k, 72h class, hardcopy material )
3- T.I.M.E. (18k , 96h,hardcopy material)
4- IMS (around 16-17k , no more information)

I know i am late for 2012 admission.I just want to get the card in 2012 and will take admission in 2013.

Please suggest me the prepration center.

BR,
Saurabh

Hi,
1) Not very sure of Education Aisle. But looking at Education Aisle's replies...you should be in safe hands especially in Verbal.
2) I don't believe that Princeton Review is giving 75 hours of coaching re-check...this seems impossible. Even if they do, do not join.
3) T.I.M.E and IMS are not really good for GMAT they well-known for CAT and IELTS respectively.

You can also try Jam.bo.ree, their materials are really good. They also have pretty good coaching.

A full-disclosure - I run CrackVerbal but I wanted to point that there is a flaw in your cost-hours-books rationale of looking at GMATPrep. The idea is you need to focus on quality. Something that numbers never reveal. I would encourage you to go and talk to the institutes to get a good idea of what/how they do stuff.

Arun

PS: I hate to do this but for sake of completeness CrackVerbal Verbal only module is 12.5K, @50hours, 4 books, 500+ online questions

Puys,

Having gone through the above posts i am still confused as to which ine is the best coaching centre for GMAT..

How does Princeton compare with Manhattan review?

Are you still considering Princeton as an option, that's quite a surprise since you have read the above posts. I have nothing against Princeton, just that the posts above were quite clear in their intent and meaning.

Anyways, my suggestion, go ahead and have a meeting with all the prospective classes in your list, preferably attend a sample session and then make an informed decision !
All the Best !

Hello,

First thing we are late for 2012 now we have to prepare for 2013, so enought time to think... :)
I have attended demo class of education asile....it is good, but no study material in hard copy.
Try to attend some demo class other than EA may be "Ivy aspire education 9741252525".

Please update the thread once you attend the demo class.

I am also planning to join in mid of nov to target addmission in 2013.

Personally, I do not think that you need any other material than what is readily available, OG's, OG Reviews, Manhattan Guides, Powerscore CR Bible. These are more than enough material, the GMAT is not a test which can be aced by preparing from extra material or practicing 10K questions. I would suggest you to not decide solely based on the amuont of prep material, it is the quality of the place that will matter.

Go to all the places that you shortlist, take demo classes, talk to the faculties, students, and only then take an informed decision.
I did not take any coaching classes, but from their posts on PG and the reputation that they have built, you should definitely check out these two places : CrackVerbal (Run by Arun aka Psychodementia) and Education Aisle (Run by Ashish).

At the outset, I would like to introduce myself as a representative of Princeton Review (Manya Group). We believe Pagalguy is an excellent forum for MBA aspirants that strives to get out authentic information to its readers. Therefore, I am sure the forum will play fair and post my response on the thread.

First of all, Radiumball, you seem to have had an unpleasant experience at our Bangalore center and we apologise profusely for that. If you are not done with your GMAT and are still preparing for it, we are happy to offer you any additional help at no extra cost as our policy has always been.

For all readers, I am attaching the email ids of 3 Bangalore students (not more for want of space and time) who have been very kind to let us publicly post their contact details. Their experience, as readers will find, has been completely contrasting. GMAT preparation requires hard work and dogged determination! Our Booster and Excelerator programs are geared to move scores from 600 to a 700 + level.. Our course is a 60 hour program, with unlimited extra help and complimentary score boosting sessions for all who cross 600 on the mock tests during the course.

I would only want people to make their decisions judiciously and check out the veracity by personally visiting the centers and talking to several people rather than basing their decisions on 1 or 2 posts. There are several prep options and self study options available in the country today. Research and pick what convinces you the most.

For people who are skeptical, please contact us and we can share the telephone numbers of several students who have benefitted from the GMAT program.

Puneet

I joined Princeton Review (Pune) after a quick counseling session. This session was very impressive. I joined by paying 25K and no soon I joined the classes than I realized that its really not worth the money. The team out there is not at all professional. They keep postponing the classes here. 7 classes are over out of which 3 were postponed for silly reasons. Once the faculty was on leave, second time they said that attendance is low so they would not conduct and the third time it was really frustrating to know that the faculties were travelling to Mumbai for a board meeting. I wrote an escalation mail for which there was a very luke warm response. They cared a damn about my concerns.

My honest suggestion -> Pune, Mumbai guys, please do not join TPR. J/a/m/b/o/r/e/e of Mumbai is far more committed and have a very elaborate course.

At TPR the verbal is still good but quant sucks. There is no focus on hard core mathematics like concepts of progression, concepts of geometry or probability ; so far all the focus is on tricks and techniques of how to get to the right answer. Come on !! Are you kidding me ? Stop telling me ways to "precisely guess" and get a good score.. If you needed hard core teaching then Princeton Review is NOT THE PLACE.

Pulling off my post on Princeton Review - Will revise and drop a fresh review again in a couple of weeks...

I have attended Sandeep Guptas GMAT classes in Bangalore . And I think he is he best tutor for GMAT
