Hi PG
Apart from looking at an MBA abroad, the best thing for ppl like me withought work ex is these post grads in managent. they are treated as Msc in the UK and MS in the US. good for those who dont want to work immediately after finishing with their undergrad.

A wide range of subjects are availible. the common ones:

International Business
International Marketing Management
Management
Human Resourse Management
FINANCE (My Choice)

The course structure is the same as that of an MBA (im telling you this after comparing their subjects and electives). Also it gives you that extra international edge without have to shell out that extra cash (the cost is almost half).

Scholarships are also availible based on your GMAT, TOEFL and ILTES. prefer the last one for the uk.

Hope this helps u guys in thinking a little different yet being safe and practical career wise.

Reactions are welcome

P.S. If any of you have info regarding these courses or have received any calls/offers, do share them.

hey
good to see someone with similar interests. the uk IS a little expensive but it is also forone yr only. also the recognitioon is worldwide. between the us and uk, i guess the time factor gives the uk a thumbs up!
cost factor:
leeds university (One of the very good ones)
10500 pounds tution fees
8000 punds living cost
it is one of the best options availible in the uk. cambridge oxford etc become way too expensive.
hey can u find out from somewhere the kinda placements such graduates get?
dusht dushyma

hi.

i am applying to univs in uk.

cass, b-school city univ london

king's college london,

kingston univ

westminster univ

surrey

want to know wether my acads are good enough
86.6 10th cbse
91.2 12th cbse
71.4 bsc physics hons Delhi univ.

also want to know how an msc in marketing will be reated in india by prospective employers ?

hey
u have a good line of universities lined up. do look at lsb for sure. it is very expensive but a course from there has maybe more value than some of the mba's in india.
look for a job there. try and come back only when you want to settle down here.
about the perspective of msc marketing here in india, of what i know, places like ifci in new delhi also award a management degree which is actually an MA. but all over the job market it is considered as good as an mba. moreover a job abroad initiallly will brighten your chances infinitely.
do tell me how you are managing the fees and about the scholarships etc.
if you can call me on 09897258052
we cud share info easily.
all the best

Hi guys,

See a lot of questions out there from nervous one's about UK:

1) will i get a job and work permit in India ?

2) WHich Uni is good ?

etc etc

Don't worry guys. Now that today I am sitting in this paush UK office of a 5bn utility company, It is a part of my social responsibility to help my brothers.

My profile:

Engineering: Pune university- 2001, 1 yr job

Scholarship for doing MSc in Surrey,

Got placed within 5 months.

2) My friend did his Msc from from Imperial and got placed.

3) My gorgeous friend did her MSc from Manchestor and got placed

So guys relax. and here is the list of universities u must apply to:

1) Surrey (mine)

2) Bath (requires expe -buggers)

3) Manchestor

4) Warwick

5) Aston

6) Imperial

there are some others too but u can clarify from me if u have some doubts.

The one year Msc gives u a added advantage of saving one year. Look at your age . How can u expect to be carrying books and going to uni for 2 full years.
Uk rocks - course ends in 10 months.

(this is my view. some scholars or bookworms might disagree)

cheers and happy course hunting,
ranjit

walwajatt

WALWAJATT are u working for British gas or electricity?ne ways good for u where ever u are parked ..Gettin a scholarship isnt a big deal for UK ..if u have good acads then no one can stop ya.now time for u to keep up ur words. I am in uk scotland doin my MSc finance In RGU aberdeen..tell me how do i go about applying ?i know abt the graduate placement schemes but thought they were only for ppl wid red passport ..and their applications are so long cant fill em in a single day.okies dude rest later..submissions are killin
ciao
adios

Brahma,

Yaa before I start let me clear something. It is MALWAJATT (and not walwajatt --- how irritating to read someone misspelling my pyara idd)

My name is Ranjit. Thxx for telling me that getting a scholarship is not a big deal. I am humbled.

Neways as far as ur finding a job. Filling in the lengthy applications is the only solution and anyone can fill them. If a company doesnt issue visa they tell it directly (like ford, citroen etc)
Besides them there are many more companies. The best thing is to start applying 1 year earlier so that one can be placed before the end of his visa.

Our company was holding interviews yesterdays for the trading department.(background - finance, engineering, IT) Neways thats about it. There is no other matra at the moment.
hope this is of help.
cheers
ranjit
