Hi CE . I am thinking of applying for Lancaster. It seems to be the only European school affordable for me. 720 GMAT, below par academics and decent profile. Any idea about the deadlines for applying?
If we are filling an online application, do the recommenders get their notification after we SUBMIT our app?
I have not filled my application, but thought I'll add my recommenders, because they might take a lot of time. They say they haven't received any mail from Lancaster...:(

Lancaster has rolling deadlines...
If u want to go by what I saw last year, u r in the clear if u apply anytime before March 2011..Though I'm not very sure about scholarship chances...
I got an email from Jacklin saying
"In order to consider your application for the MBA further, could you please upload your GMAT result to your application."
What does that mean ? any idea? i have already uploaded my gmat score report with the application.

I have submitted my application around 15 days back..i got a reply saying they will get back to me by 10 novemeber.I dont see any revert.

I too had applied to Lancaster, initially they had told that they'll revert back by 13th o Nov, but then after a request to update my resume again they had told me that they ll come back by 13th o Dec.
30 mins back i got a mail inviting me for an interview...!!
Has anyone got invites for interview... seems that the thread has been dormant since long... previous year's threads had seen some alums coming up front to help applicants... I request the same kind of support for the coming batch as well...please.

well i had my interview on the 18th, telephonic one, which went fine, after which they had told me that they will revert back in 48 hrs... although the same night i got a mail confirminng the admit...
But now i am still confused... mainly pertaining to the existing job scenario??
if someone can please... please throw some light on the same...
Also if someone can comment on how can a deferral be obtained and on what grounds?

@amalladi: i had submitted my app somewhere in mid october... and they had first informed me on an iterview call by 2nd week november which couldn t happen cause of some pending documents... finally it happened on the 18th of Dec.

Interviewed on the 17th Dec, Experience was very similar to the one stated above. Got admit the same night.
I contacted admissions regarding the placement scenario.. they dont have complete stats. Compensation details were not available. In terms of Location 49 students got placed in UK (data is incomplete and for the past 2 batches combined). Second highest destination in India (17). considering that 30% students are Indian, at least 50% Indians seem to be coming back. No placements in Hong Kong and Singapore.

Hey Pranay220, are you joining LUMS then ? Not sure why they do not have clear picture about the placements. It is more than 3 months since the previous batch graduated. Is the economic scenario in UK still the same? :lookround:
I have an interview pending for LUMS. They have not given me a date yet. What kind of questions do they ask other than the general Why MBA, Why Lancaster ?

They don't know about placements because many of their students have not reported back with their position. Economic scenario is better than last year I think. Manchester had better placements for example.
The interview was pretty standard with standard set of questions. Why MBA? Why now? why lancaster? what if you are offered an admit in another school (if you have provided that info in the application)? Your leadership experience? your Role model? They give 30 mins slots for the interview and you have to call them up at the exact time. If you call late, interview will be shortened. If time permits they may delve into other aspects.
